BLADENBORO -West Bladen and Heide Trask were separated by only 5 points across 4 sets Monday night, but the Lady Titans pulled out a 3-1 non-conference volleyball victory by set scores of 26-24, 26-28, 25-23 and 25-22.
Senior Keira Lewis pounded in 20 attacks, 10 kills, 3 aces, 7 service points, 2 blocks and had 1 assist for West. Senior Jenna McLean slammed in 7 kills, 8 service points and had 17 attacks. Senior Trinity Meares fired in 9 service points, 4 kills and had 12 attacks and a dig.
Senior Maddie Walters battered the Trask defense with 18 attacks, 8 service points, an ace, 2 kills, a block and had 1 assist. Freshman Greer Pope dished out 10 assists and smacked in 7 service points, an ace, a kill and 3 attacks. Junior Alina Chavez banged in 2 kills and had 5 attacks.
Junior Marlene Crabtree drilled in 3 kills, 3 service points and had 10 attacks. Sophomore Natalee Sykes contributed a kill, an assist and 2 attacks. Junior Marlie Walters tallied 1 service point and had 2 attacks. Sophomore Emme Bryant had 2 digs.
West Bladen, now 2-2, will host East Bladen Wednesday night.
