BLADENBORO – West Bladen opened Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball play Thursday night by sweeping all 3 sets from Clinton by set scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-14.

West freshman Greer Pope dished out 18 assists and rang up 11 service points including 2 aces, an attack and a kill. Senior Keira Lewis pounded the Clinton defense with 17 attacks, 8 kills, 6 blocks, 2 aces and a service point.

Senior Maddie Walters battered the Clinton defense with 23 attacks, 5 kills, 5 service points including an ace and handed out 2 assists. Junior Marlie Walters hammered in 11 attacks, 5 kills, 10 service points including 2 aces and had 2 digs.

Senior Trinity Meares slammed in 23 attacks, 7 kills, 4 service points and had 3 digs for the winners. Senior Jenna McLean knocked in 8 attacks, 3 kills, 7 service points including an ace and had 5 digs. Junior Alina Chavez banged in 3 attacks, 2 kills and had an assist. Sophomore Emme Bryant had an attack.

Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 5-7 overall and will travel to Lakewood Monday night.
