DUBLIN – West Bladen rolled to a 3-0 non-conference season-opening volleyball victory over St. Pauls Monday by scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 25-16.

Kills by seniors Morgan Schumacher and Kathryn Schultz and a tipped winner by Raegan Davis kept the Lady Knights even at 5-5 in the first set, before senior Kassidy Anderson reeled off 4 straight service points with the help of a Laikyn Pait tip for a 9-5 West lead.

A couple of service winners by senior Kaylee Stevens kept the lead at 12-8. A Schumacher kill and a service point from junior Patience Parker made it 15-11.

Senior Logan Autry tipped in a winner, Schultz knocked in a kill and senior Jenna Dove drilled in an ace for an 18-12 Lady Knight lead.

Davis scored on a tip then reeled off 4 straight service points as the lead grew to 23-15. St. Pauls rallied to within 23-21 before kills by Schultz and Parker closed out the set.

Kills by Schultz and Parker highlighted a 3-point service run by Pait that put West Bladen in front 6-2 in set 2. A Schumacher kill and an Autry tip made it 8-4. Schumacher fired in an ace and a service winner to up the count to 11-5.

An Anderson kill produced a Davis service point and a 13-6 lead. A Parker tip ignited a 3-point service run for Anderson that was capped by an ace that padded the lead to 17-8.

A Dove kill and a pair of Pait service points widened the gap to 20-9. Schumacher closed out the set with a kill followed by a service point.

Autry rallied West Bladen from an early 2-0 deficit in set 3 with 4 straight service points. Autry smoked in an ace that pushed the lead to 5-2.

A Schumacher block, service points from Parker and Dove and a Pait kill stretched the lead to 9-4. Schultz and Autry slammed in kills to keep the margin at 11-5.

An 11-4 St. Pauls run edged the visitors in front 16-15, before a Lady Bulldog error tied the score 16-16. Dove pounded in a pair of aces to start a service run of 9 straight points that ended the match.

Dove racked up 11 service points that included 5 aces and added a kill. Davis dished out ten assists and had 6 service points and 2 kills. Anderson tallied 9 service points with 2 aces and 2 kills.

Autry finished with 8 assists, 5 kills, 5 service points and 3 aces. Schultz knocked in 5 kills, and Pait filled the stat sheet with 5 service points, 4 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces and an assist.

Schumacher totaled 5 kills, 3 service points, an ace, a block and an assist. Parker added 3 kills, 3 service points and an assist, and Stevens tallied 2 service points.

West Bladen swept the jayvee match 2-0 by scores of 25-12 and 25-11. Alise Pait led the Lady Knights with 6 service points that included 4 aces and also delivered 2 kills and an assist. Elizabeth Allbright blasted in 6 kills, an ace and 2 service points.

Teammate Mikayla Winebarger was credited with 6 assists, 2 service points, an ace and a kill. Freshman Jordan Benson added 4 service points with an ace, a dig and an assist. Callie Lewis knocked in 3 kills, and Lexie Corrothers finished with two kills.

Indra Rodriquez and Cheyenne Lewis both totaled 4 service points and one ace each.

West Bladen will host Whiteville Tuesday at 4:30.
