BLADENBORO – West Bladen’s Lady Knights claimed their first volleyball win of the season Thursday night 3-0 over West Columbus in non-conference action by set scores of 25-19, 25-8 and 25-13.
Junior Makayla Wright hammered in 6 aces, 7 kills, 7 service points and had a dig for the winners. Junior Kaitlyn Brisson fired in 10 service points, 3 aces and a kill. Sophomore Trinity Meares slammed in 8 kills, an ace and had a dig.
Junior Emily Young drilled in 5 aces, 5 kills and 4 service points for the Lady Knights. Sophomore Jenna McLean dished out 7 assists, had a dig and tallied 3 service points and an ace. Junior Catherine Dowless racked up 4 service points, 2 aces and 2 assists. Senior Kayla Norris blasted in 3 kills.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights evened their record at 1-1 and will travel to Lakewood Monday.
