CERRO GORDO – Freshman Greer Pope and senior Maddie Walters combined for 35 service points Wednesday night to lead West Bladen to a 3-0 non-conference volleyball victory over West Columbus by set scores of 25-3, 25-10 and 25-13.

Pope fired in 18 service points that included 6 aces and added 4 attacks, a kill, and a dig while dishing out 4 assists. Maddie Walters rang up 17 service points that included 5 aces and smacked in 7 attacks, 4 kills and had 1 dig. Junior Marlene Crabtree slammed in 4 kills, 8 attacks, 3 aces, 2 other service points and had an assist.

Senior Jenna McLean handed out 3 assists and knocked in 3 kills, 5 attacks and 2 service points for the winners. Senior Trinity Meares smacked in 5 service points including 2 aces, a kill and 4 attacks. Sophomore Emme Bryant contributed 4 service points, a kill, an attack, an assist and a dig. Senior Kiera Lewis banged in 2 kills, a block and 5 attacks.

Junior Marlie Walters pounded in 2 kills, 2 service points, 3 attacks and had a dig for the Lady Knights. Junior Holland Davis drilled in 4 service points that included 2 aces, 4 attacks and a kill. Junior Alina Chavez blasted in 3 kills and 3 attacks, and sophomore Jaylyn Clark smoked in 3 kills and 6 attacks.

Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 3-6 overall and will host Lakewood Thursday night.
