West Bladen’s B. J. Drake has been recognized as a ‘Athlete of the Week’ by the Fayetteville Observer for his performance in the Knights season-opening 39-36 win over South Brunswick.
Drake, a senior, rushed for a whopping 238 yards and scored on touchdown runs of 61, 66 and 19 yards. “B. J. carried the ball a million times,” said Knight Coach Kris Williams about his workhorse running back.
