LUMBERTON – West Bladen junior Demon’tre Love placed 2nd for the 5th consecutive week Wednesday in the Southeastern Athletic Conference cross country meet at Luther Britt Park.
Love finished the 5000 meter course in 19 minutes, 4 seconds. Clinton senior Cristian Ortiz (18:45) won the race. Knight sophomore Dylan Taylor captured 16th place with a time of 24:27.
Other Knight finishers were: freshman Bradley Yandle, 18th place (24:35); sophomore Raul Morales, 26th place (26:04); junior Antuan Martinez-Sanchez, 28th place (27:41).
Lady Knight senior Adairis Jimenez finished 9th in the girls’ race with a time of 30:44. Senior teammate Sarah Dillard placed 22nd (33:33.00). Midway senior Hailey Happel won the girls race (24:53).
The SAC-6 championship races will be held Wednesday at Midway High.
