Elizabethtown, NC – The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for its Annual Awards, which recognize outstanding individuals and businesses who have made a significant impact on Bladen County in 2023. The Chamber is reaching out to its members and the community at large to identify and acknowledge these exceptional contributors. Nominations will be accepted until November 30, 2023.
These prestigious awards are presented in the following categories:
1. Outstanding Chamber Member of the Year:
The Outstanding Chamber Member of the Year award recognizes a member organization or business that has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service throughout the previous year. The recipient of this award may have achieved significant milestones, accomplished remarkable feats, or overcome substantial challenges. They embody the core values of the Chamber and actively contribute to the overall success of both the Chamber and the local community.
2. Outstanding Small Businessperson Award:
The Outstanding Small Business Award is presented to an individual who represents a Chamber Member. The recipient of this award is deeply invested in the success of the Chamber, local businesses, and the community.
3. Caring Person Award:
The Caring Person Award is granted to an individual, whether or not they are a Chamber Member, for their meritorious service to the community. This recognition is bestowed upon an individual who understands and exemplifies how the public, business community, and government collaborate to provide vital services to the community. The awardee has played a significant and sustained role in numerous community activities, often working behind the scenes. They may have received prestigious accolades for their contributions and have generously offered their time and resources.
4. Honorary Lifetime Membership Award:
The Honorary Lifetime Membership Award has been established to honor an individual who has consistently served the Chamber in an exemplary and ongoing manner. This award is presented to an individual who embodies the qualities of an ideal Chamber member, a caring businessperson, an active participant in community initiatives, and an exemplary citizen. The recipient of this award will have consistently demonstrated the Golden Rule in all their endeavors.
5. Legacy Award:
The Legacy Award is designed to acknowledge an individual who, through their professional role and daily responsibilities, has actively supported the Chamber’s efforts and initiatives. They have taken on leadership roles and provided valuable guidance on significant business development matters. This individual is recognized for their commitment to collaboration. Nominees for this award can be Chamber Members, elected officials, or county/town employees.
To submit a nomination for a deserving individual, business, or organization, you can access the nomination form on the Chamber’s website or send the nominee’s name, contact information, and a brief description of why they deserve the award to Terri Dennison at tdennison@elizabethtownnc.org by November 30, 2023.
The awards will be presented at the Annual Banquet scheduled for January at Lu Mil Winery. This event promises to be a memorable occasion where the community gathers to celebrate and honor those who have made exceptional contributions to the betterment of Bladen County. Your nominations are essential in recognizing the outstanding individuals and businesses that have left a positive mark on our community.
