WHITEVILLE – Whiteville capitalized on five West Bladen errors to score eight unearned runs and post a 9-0 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory Friday.
Freshman Sam West pitched 5.1 innings of 5-hit baseball, struck out 2, walked 3, hit 4 batters and allowed 9 runs – only one earned.
Whiteville scored 2 runs in the first inning, 3 in the second and one in the fourth.
Edgar Garcia raked a single to left in the second inning for the first West Bladen hit. Sophmore Braylon Williamson laced a single to centerfield in the sixth inning.
The Knights travel to West Columbus Tuesday night.
