South Brunswick rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat visiting West Bladen 7-5 Tuesday night.

West Bladen took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but the Cougars capitalized on two hit batters, a walk, two errors and a wild pitch to vault in front.

The Knights took a 4-1 lead with four runs in the fourth. Chandler Lennon crushed a triple over the center-fielder’s head and scored on Hunter Pait’s ground ball. A wild throw sent Pait to second base, and he moved to third on Seth Britt’s fielder’s choice.

Britt stole second base, and Ray Jones knocked in Pait and Britt with a single. Courtesy runner Caleb Hunt stole second base and scored on a throwing error.

The Cougars tied the game with 2 runs in the fourth and one in the fifth. West Bladen went back in front with a run in the top of the sixth. Lennon slapped an opposite-field double down the left-field line and raced home on Britt’s infield hit.

Jones pitched the first 4 innings for the Knights, and Caleb Sholar relieved Jones in the fifth inning.

Lennon topped the Knight hitters with a triple, a double and 2 runs scored. Jones cracked the 2-run single. Britt finished with a single, a run batted in and a run scored. Pait also scored a run, and Ian Sykes connected for the other West Bladen hit.

The Knights, now 4-3, will travel to North Myrtle Beach, SC for a double-header Thursday at 5 p.m.
