usafootball13Elizabethtown native Rogers Clark started as defensive tackle for the Campbell University Camels Thursday night as the Camels defeated Pikeville, KY 41-20 in their season opener.

Clark finished with 2 tackles and was credited with one quarterback hurry. On the second play of the game Clark and teammate Greg Milhouse stopped Pikeville’s Quan Weaver for no gain.

On Pikeville’s first possession of the second period, Clark and teammate Lorenzo Herman dropped the Bears’ Elijah Bell for a 3-yard loss.

Midway the second quarter, Clark’s pressure on quarterback Sani Warren forced an incompletion.

Clark had walked on at North Carolina State in 2012 and recorded a tackle in the Wolfpack’s victory over Richmond in 2013. He enrolled at Campbell in the spring of this year.

The Camels will host Chowan Saturday at 6 p.m.
