TEACHEY – East Bladen swept both games of a non-conference double-header from Wallace-Rose Hill Tuesday night by scores of 17-2 and 15-0.

Junior Evan Pait and sophomore Jake Futrell combined to pitch a 7-hitter in the opener, striking out 8 and walking 2 batters.

The Eagles took charge early with 6 runs in the 1st inning then added 2 runs in the third. The Bulldogs answered with 2 runs in the home 3rd, but East Bladen exploded for 8 runs in the 4th inning and tacked on a final run in the fifth.

Junior Coleman Tatum fired a 1-hit shutout in the nightcap, striking out 6 batters and walking one. Junior Luke Wells spoiled the no-hit bid with a single. The Eagles capitalized on 7 hits and 7 walks to score the 15 runs.

Coach Grant Pait’s Eagles, now 4-0, will host West Bladen Tuesday to open Southeastern Athletic Conference play.
