SOUTHPORT – South Brunswick defeated East Bladen 19-0 Wednesday night in non-conference baseball action.
Junior Jaden Marvin and seniors Dow Pender and Landon Lynch teamed up to pitch a 2-hitter for the Cougars. South pounded out 13 hits and capitalized on 9 walks and 10 wild pitches. The Cougars scored 6 runs in the 1st inning, 11 more in the 2nd inning and tacked on 2 runs in the 4th inning.
Seniors Evan Pait and Ty Mathis collected 1 hit each for the Eagles. Pait, Mathis and junior Natoren Corbett saw duty on the mound for the Eagles.
The Eagles, now 1-1, will travel to South Columbus Friday night.
