SHALLOTTE – East Bladen junior quarterback Kewone Maynor threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to junior Malachi Moore for the tying touchdown Saturday night as the Eagles battled South Brunswick to a 21-21 tie in the Bash at the Beach Football Jamboree.

The Maynor-to-Moore connection capped a back-and-forth affair that saw the 2 teams trade touchdowns throughout the evening. Cougar quarterback Jameson Prince started the scoring with a touchdown pass to Jordan Davis for a 7-0 South lead.

Senior Masion Brooks broke loose and galloped 68 yards for an Eagle touchdown that tied the score 7-7. After South went back up 14-7, East Bladen’s Xavier Best popped free on another long touchdown run to knot the score 14-14.

The Cougars marched 43 yards after recovering an East fumble to take a 21-14 lead as Prince scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.

East Bladen will begin their regular season schedule Friday night at North Brunswick.
