CLARKTON – One of Bladen County’s favorite ands can add yet another accomplishment to their list–CBMA award winner. Blackwater Rhythm and Blues walked away with the awards during the Carolina Beach Music Awards held Friday at the Alabama Theater in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

The band was nominated in three categories and walked away with all three trophies. The band won the awards for Rising Star (formerly Favorite New Artist), Song of the Year for the band’s hit single ”Dance Tonight,” and Gerald Robinson was honored with the Song Writers’ award for his work on “Dance Tonight.”

The band consists of members Donald Jordan, Greg Elkins, William Sellers, Kendrix Singletary, Billly Little, Billy Prease, Dale Edwards, Neill Singletary, Fred Cook and Sound Engineer Eddie Cogle.
Tickets for next year’s CBMA awards ceremony are on sale. The event will be Nov. 9 – Nov. 13, 2016 at the Alabama Theater. For ticket information, call 800.342.2262.
