Bladen County’s 10-and-Under Girls All-Stars defeated Boone Saturday 2-0 to earn a split of their opening round pool play games in the State-Wide Athletic Committee (SWAC) State Soccer Tournament in Hickory.
Sophia Masaid and Molly Evans scored the goals for Bladen County in the win over Boone.
Earlier in the day, the Bladen team had lost their first game 8-2. Masaid also tallied both of the Bladen goals in the first game.
The Bladen team will continue Pool Play at 10 a.m. Sunday. The tournament finals will follow later in the day.
