BLADENBORO – Basketball Coach Travis Pait has announced that the 9th Annual Bladen Offroad Christmas Tournament will be played at West Bladen on December 28-30.
“We are excited about Bladen Offroad coming on board as our new title sponsor,” said Pait. “This local business has become a destination to meet automobile owners’ needs for tires, rims, service and repairs.”
“Bladen Offroad is proud to be associated with this great event,” said Scott Gordon, owner of Bladen Offroad. “For a number of years West Bladen has provided a quality high school basketball tournament here in southeastern North Carolina. At Bladen Offroad we strive to provide excellent service and great prices to our customers. Our sponsorship of the tournament is one of many ways that we give back to our community.”
Through the years the annual boys’ tournament has boasted many great teams and future college players. This year’s field looks to be loaded again with Wilmington Laney, Pamlico, Whiteville, West Columbus, St. Pauls, Pinecrest, Dillon Christian School and host West Bladen. “Remarkably each of these teams are expected to contend for the top spot in their respective conferences,” said Pait.
Games will be started each day at 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. with the gate opening at 1 p.m. Admission will be $6 with no passes out. Only NCHSAA passes (coaches, referees and officials) will be allowed. Concessions will be available for purchase.
December 28
2 p.m.: Wilmington Laney vs. Dillon Christian
4 p.m.: St. Pauls vs. Pamlico
6 p.m.: Pinecrest vs. Whiteville
8 p.m.: West Bladen vs. West Columbus
December 29
2 p.m.: St. Pauls/Pamlico Loser vs. Pinecrest/Whiteville Loser
4 p.m.: Laney/Dillon Christian Loser vs. West Bladen/West Columbus Loser
6 p.m.: St. Pauls/Pamlico Winner vs. Pinecrest/Whiteville Winner
8 p.m.: Laney/Dillon Christian Winner vs. West Bladen/West Columbus Winner
December 30
2 p.m.: 7th Place Game
4 p.m.: 5th Place Game
6 p.m.: 3rd Place Game
8 p.m.: Championship Game
