ELIZABETHTOWN- Six different players scored touchdowns or conversions Monday night as the Gators defeated the Bulldogs 34-6 on opening night of Bladen Recreation’s 7-9 tackle football league.

Christian Neill powered into the end zone from 4 yards out for the 1st Gator touchdown. Quarterback Derrick Gilchrist circled left end to score the 1st of his 3 conversions.

B. J. Singletary scooped up a teammate’s fumble and darted into the end zone for a touchdown and a 14-0 Gator lead after Gilchrist ran the conversion.

Sayed McElveen raced 35 yards for a Bulldog touchdown that trimmed the Gator lead to 14-6, but L. C. Council broke loose down the right sideline and dashed 70 yards for a Gator touchdown. Gilchist added the conversion to pad the lead to 21-6 at halftime.

Singletary scooted 11 yards on his 2nd touchdown run of the night to start the 2nd half as the lead grew to 27-6. Cash Purdie bolted 22 yards for the final Gator touchdown.
