Bladenboro Christmas for the Children kicks offAs the temperatures begin to drop and folks begin to think about the holidays, the Bladenboro Police Department has begun their annual Christmas for Kids drive.  Police Chief Chris Hunt said the goal this year is to be able to take 25 students from Bladenboro Primary School Christmas shopping.

Chief Hunt said that the department has planned the shopping trip for Tuesday, December 13.

“We make sure each child has a winter coat, undergarments, and shoes for the winter. We try to  make sure they have at least four or five outfits and, if there is enough money left over, we will let them pick out a toy,” said Chief Hunt.

Last, year, the Bladenboro Police Department was able to take 20 kids Christmas shopping, but they would like to take even more students this year, Chief Hunt. The students are selected by the staff of Bladenboro Primary School.

All donations can be given to Chief Hunt, given at Bladenboro Town Hall, or given at the Bladenboro Police Department.
