SOUTHPORT – Junior Chase Williams and sophomore Jackson Pait combined for 29 points, and West Bladen raced to leads of 12-2, 28-6 and 51-13 enroute to a 57-26 non-conference boys’ basketball victory over South Brunswick Wednesday night.

Pait drained a pair of 3-point shots, and Williams worked inside for 2 baskets and 2 free throws as the Knights grabbed an early 12-2 lead.

Williams dropped in 3 more baskets, and sophomore Tylik McCall bombed in a 3-pointer and another basket in the 2nd period. Junior Hezekiah Adams nailed a 3-point shot, and Pait added a basket as the Knight lead grew to 28-6 at halftime.

Senior Andre Moore buried a pair of 3-point shots in the 3rd quarter, and Pait knocked down a 3-ball and a pair of free throws. McCall and senior Cornelius Esters drilled in 3-point shots, and Williams muscled in 2 more baskets. Adams tacked on another basket for a 51-13 lead.

Freshman Kendell Lessane popped in a pair of baskets in the final period, and junior Ty’Leak Ballard powered in a basket to close out the Knight scoring.

Williams led the way with 16 points, and Pait tossed in 13 points. McCall followed with 8 points, and Moore tallied 6 points. Adams netted 5 points, and Lessane had 4.

Jaelon Johnson topped the South scoring with 10 points, and Ziyon Smith finished with 6 points.

Coach Travis Pait’s Knights improved to 11-1 and will travel to West Columbus Wednesday night. South Brunswick, now 3-8, will visit North Brunswick Friday night.
