ROSE HILL – West Bladen rolled to leads of 32-12 and 50-14 en route to a 61-29 Four County Conference boys basketball victory over Union Friday night.

Senior John Bowen ignited the Knight offense with a pair of 2-point baskets and a 3-point bomb in the first quarter. Senior Kalvin Page canned 2 free throws, and junior Scott Bowen added a basket as West Bladen built a 12-5 lead.

Junior Gerardo Reyes drained a 3-point shot and a trio of free throws in the second quarter. John Bowen dropped in a pair of baskets and a free throw, and senior Sayaun Dent pumped in a pair of baskets. Junior Jimmy Williams buried a 3-point shot, and Page scored a basket as the halftime lead ballooned to 32-12.

Dent poured in 4 baskets to spark an 18-2 Knight blitz in the third period. John Bowen sank 4 free throws, and Keshawn Lewis canned two. Williams tacked on a basket, and Page and junior Jonathan Robinson made one free throw each as the lead grew to 50-14.

Masai Carroway drilled a 3-point shot and 2 free throws in the final quarter for the Knights. Robinson hit 4 of 4 free throws, and Fred Walters netted a basket.

John Bowen topped all scorers with 16 points, and Dent followed with 12 points. Reyes and Robinson finished with 6 points each, and Williams and Carroway tallied 5 points each.

Coach Travis Pait’s Knights raised their league record to 7-1 and their overall mark to 14-4. West Bladen will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Monday night.
