BLADENBORO – Four different West Bladen players scored goals Wednesday night as the Knights celebrated Senior Night by posting their 1st Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ soccer victory of the season 4-3 over Red Springs.
Senior Darwin Garcia, juniors Kevyn De La Cruz Labra and Christopher Ramirez Labra and sophomore Jonah Bryan all scored goals for the Knights who led 2-1 at halftime. De La Cruz Labra was also credited with an assist.
Senior Shaun “Walker” Barkley led the Knight defense with 10 steals. Ramirez Labra followed with 9 steals. Senior Daniel Gustafson and junior Brady Durden recorded 8 steals each. De La Cruz Labra, Bryan and freshman Alejandro Lopez Sandoval finished with 7 steals each.
Seniors Eddie Labra and Levi German and junior Bryant Ortiz-Aguilar had 4 steals each. Senior Oswaldo Gonzalez-Lopez posted the victory in goal for the Knights with 6 saves.
Seniors playing their final home game for the Knights were: Eddie Labra, Levi German. Oswaldo Gonzalez-Lopez, Darwin Garcia, Shaun “Walker” Barkley, Daniel Gustafson and Ricardo Rodriguez Gonzalez.
Coach Kristen Parker’s Knights raised their record to 5-16.
