Brandon Council Top Ten in Pass Protection

West Bladen grad Brandon Council finished the season ranked in the Top Ten in pass protection for offensive guards among FBS Division I schools.

Council, a 325-pound freshman, started the final eight games of the season for the Akron Zips and ranked seventh in the country for Fewest Pressures Allowed among Guards with 230-plus Snaps in Pass Protection.

The Tar Heel native allowed the Akron quarterback to be pressured only 3 times on a total of 263 pass block snaps. The Zips finished 7-7 on the season after their loss in the Boca Raton Bowl.
