Elizabethtown’s Cade Hancock, a senior at Harrells Christian Academy, has enjoyed a strong run through his fall schedule of junior golf tournaments.

After finishing second in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tournament at Furman University, Hancock tied for third place in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tournament at the Pinehurst #5 course on November 10-11.

Cade shot a 6-over-par 78 on Saturday that was good enough for fourth-place, then moved into a tie for third place by firing a 79 on Sunday. Hancock’s 13-over-par 157 total was only 3 strokes back of the winner, Alex Heffner of Harrisburg, NC.

In the George Holliday Memorial Junior Golf Tournament at Myrtle Beach National two weeks later, Hancock shot back-to-back 74’s to finish tied for sixth place at 148 – 5 shots back of the winner, Carlos Garre of Myrtle Beach, SC.

On December 8th, Hancock fired a one-over-par 73 at the Surf Golf & Beach Club to finish in second-place in the Charles Tilghman Junior Golf Tournament that was shortened to one day due to inclement weather. Garrett Clark of Burlington won the tournament with an even-par 72.

Hancock will compete in the Donald Ross Junior Championship to be held on Pinehurst #4 and #5 on December 28 & 29.

According to his father, Jim Hancock, Cade has also been offered a scholarship to play and study at Mount Olive University, He is still undecided as he continues to talk with Campbell University, Wingate and Appalachian State.
