GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Mt. Olive University Trojans remained in fifth place in the team standings on Monday at the conclusion of the second round with three golfers in the top-15 overall at the Conference Carolinas Golf Championship at the Preserve at Verdae.
Senior Cade Hancock of Elizabethtown remained the team leader after posting a three-over 75 in the second round and stayed in a tie for seventh overall with a five-over 149 (74-75). He carded 13 pars on the second day while converting two birdies over the final three holes. Hancock is tied for the most pars made in the tournament with 24 while also making five birdies.
The University of Mount Olive men’s team registered a 15-over 303 in the second round and continued to sit fifth overall in the standings with a 31-over 607 (304-303), just one stroke back of fourth place. Barton fired an impressive two-under 286 to catapult up in the team standings to first place with an 11-over 587 (301-286), to hold an eight-stroke lead. Erskine fell one position and ranks second with a 19-over 595 (291-304) and Belmont Abbey sits third with a 28-over 604 (299-305).
