In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, Clarkton UMC in Bladen County served as a localized distribution hub for disaster supplies.  They received inputs from United Methodist charities, and distributed supplies to people in need in the Clarkton area.  They also distributed to other nearby churches who in turn distributed them to needy folks in their areas.

Pastor Shannon Ross initially offered Clarkton UMC to help as a relief supply distribution point.  Pastor Ross leveraged the contacts she’s made with numerous other churches in the area over the years to make sure the supplies got to the needy.

District Superintendent Rev. Edie Gleaves (pictured below with Rev. Shannon Ross) visited Clarkton UMC recently to tour the operations.
