WASHINGTON – Tonight, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) voted for the fourth time to fully fund America’s military for fiscal year 2018.  Previous efforts to fully fund our brave troops were blocked by Senate Democrats as part of a political tactic to secure amnesty for illegal immigrants.

“What other country prioritizes illegal immigrants over national security, border security, and normal government operations?” asked Congressman Pittenger.  “We were elected to govern.  Democrats must stop holding our troops and our government hostage to an unrelated issue.”

The House Amendment to the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1892 – Further Extension of Continuing Appropriations Act:

* Continues general government funding through March 23, 2018.

* Provides $659.2 billion to fully fund the Department of Defense for FY 2018.

* Provides a 2.4 percent pay raise for our brave troops.

* Provides a two-year extension of funding for Community Health Care Centers.
