KERNERSVILLE – East Bladen sophomore Johnny Alvarado finished 69th in the Class 2A Boys Cross Country State Meet Saturday finishing with a time of 18 minutes, 48.05 seconds.
The only other male cross country runner from the Southeastern Athletic Conference to qualify for the state meet was Clinton’s Cristian Ortiz, who finished 76th with a time of 18:58.43.
Seaforth’s Jack Anstrom won the state championship race with a time of 16:15.43.
