Deer hunting is one of Bladen County’s favorite recreations. In the deer season 2022 to January 1, 2023, a lot of deer were harvested in Bladen, Brunswick, and Columbus counties. Bladen County hunters harvested 2,516 deer, with 1,224 antlered bucks, 115 button bucks, and 1,177 does. Those deer were harvested by gun (2,357), black powder (79), bow (65), and crossbow (15). Bladen hunters took their total deer from game lands (138) and other lands (2,378).

Brunswick County hunters harvested 1774 deer, with 844 antlerd bucks, 69 button bucks, and 861 does. Those deer were harvested by gun (1,541), black powder (74), bow (127), and crossbow (32). Brunswick hunters took their total deer from game lands(139) and other lands (1,635).

Columbus County hunters harvested 2,176 deer, with 1,073 antlered bucks, 69 button bucks, and 1,034 does. Those deer were harvested by gun (2,020), black powder(72), bow (67), and crossbow (17). Columbus hunters took their total deer from game lands(73) and other lands(2,103).

Deer season this year runs to January 1, 2024, so Bladen deer hunters have just a few more days to enjoy this recreation.
