TABOR CITY – Elizabethtown rode a 7-run, third-inning explosion to an 8-0 lead and eventual 12-1 victory over South Columbus Saturday in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Supplemental Tournament.
Aiden Trinidad smashed a first-inning double and raced home on Jaylen Smith’s single to centerfield that put Elizabethtown ahead 1-0.
Gauge King hammered a lead-off triple in the Elizabethtown third inning. Trinidad knocked in Gauge King with a double. Prince McKoy drove in Trinidad with a single, and Noah German followed with a single.
Gauge King yanked a single to left to start the Elizabethtown fourth inning. McKoy cracked a single, and German rapped a single to centerfield that scored Gauge King.
Smith walloped a triple that plated McKoy and German, and Cashwell knocked in Smith with a hit as the lead grew to 12-0.
Smith finished 3-3 at the plate with a triple, 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. Cashwell batted 3-3 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored. German turned in a 3-3 game with a double and 3 runs scored.
Hutchins Glenn batted 2-2 with a double and an rbi for the winners. Gauge King finished 2-2 at the plate with a triple and 2 runs scored, and Rex Register was 2-2 with an rbi. Prince McKoy batted 2-3 with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.
Colt Lewis drilled a triple, and Gaston Russ smacked a double. Trinidad blasted an rbi double and scored a run. Taylor King singled, scored a run and drove in a run.
The Elizabethtown Supplemental All-Stars will play Columbus County Sunday at 2 p.m.
