LUMBERTON – West Robeson American defeated Elizabethtown18-8 Tuesday night in the first Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 AA (Coach-Pitch) Championship Game. West Robeson claimed the title with a 15-5 victory in the second game.

Elizabethtown racked up 6 runs in the first inning as Zach Sholar and Tyler Lewis belted singles. Davion Lewis’ infield hit loaded the bases. Dawson Wright’s come-backer to the mound forced Sholar at the plate.

Mason Smith lined a single to left that scored Tyler Lewis and Davion Lewis. Ryan Dove followed with a single to centerfield. Jake Gooden ripped a single to left that scored Wright.

Easton Bostic raked a single to left that plated Smith and Dove, and C. J. McCracken swatted a single to left-centerfield that scored Gooden.

Isaiah Robinson slapped a single to rightfield to begin the Elizabethtown second but was forced at second base by Sholar. Tyler Lewis and Davion Lewis cracked singles to load the bases, before Wright’s fielder’s choice scored Sholar.

In the Elizabethtown third, Colton Daly yanked a single to rightfield, raced all the way to third base on an error and scored on Gooden’s fielder’s choice.

Tyler Lewis and Davion Lewis both batted 2-2 and both of them scored a run to lead the Elizabethtown hitters. Sholar, Smith, Dove, Daly, Gooden, Bostic, McCracken, Ahmarie White and Robinson all connected for one hit each.

Wright, Smith, Dove, Daly, Sholar and Gooden all scored one run each. Gooden, Smith and Bostic all drove in 2 runs each. Wright drove in one run.
