BLADENBORO – Maycee Kinlaw pitched a 1-hit shutout and struck out 17 batters Friday night to lead Bladenboro to a 7-0 Dixie Ponytails Softball victory over Whiteville in their season opener at McLean Park.

Kinlaw gave up an infield hit to Reese in the 4th inning, walked 2, hit a batter and another batter reached on a passed 3rd strike.

Anna Claire Walters and Camryn Wood sandwiched 1st inning singles around a Bella Beard walk, and Walters scored the 1st Bladenboro run.

Hailii Andrews and Kristen Singletary drew walks to start the home half of the 3rd, and Kylee Davenport and Walters smacked singles that scored Andrews and Singletary for a 3-0 Bladenboro lead.

Kinlaw, Camryn Wood and Bristol Allen drew 4th inning walks, and Beard and Kynzlee Wood belted singles. Kinlaw, Beard, Camryn Wood and Kynzlee Wood all scored as the Bladenboro lead grew to 7-0.

Walters batted 2-for-2 to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Beard, Camryn Wood, Kynzlee Wood and Davenport added 1 hit each. Walters, Kinlaw, Beard, Camryn Wood, Kynzlee Wood, Andrews and Singletary all scored runs.
