CHAPEL HILL – East Bladen was recognized Wednesday for being an ejection-free school for the 2016-17 school year by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

This is the fourth consecutive year for East Bladen athletics to be recognized for being ejection-free.

Also on the list for 2016-17 from the Four County Conference were Midway, Pender and Heide Trask. Ejection-free members of the Three Rivers Conference for 2016-17 included Fairmont, Red Springs and South Columbus.

NCHSAA guidelines record ejections for fighting, taunting, profanity, obscene gestures or disrespectfully addressing or contacting officials.

A total of 127 schools from across the state were recognized for being ejection-free in 2016-17.
