Three East Bladen Eagles competed in the NCHSAA Class 2-A State Track Meet Saturday at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
Senior Dwight Campbell did not qualify for the finals in the Boys 110 Meter High Hurdles after posting a time of 17.97 seconds in his preliminary semi-final heat. Campbell’s time placed fourteenth among the preliminary heat times.
Sophomores Eian Hines and Ethan Hines placed 12th and 13th respectively in the Boys Long Jump Finals. Ethan Hines was the Mid East Regional champion with a leap of 22 feet, 6.25 inches, but only managed a jump of 20 feet, 0.5 inches on Saturday.
Eian Hines placed just ahead of his brother with a jump of 20 feet, 3.5 inches.
North Brunswick’s Jayhlen Washington won the 2-A Long Jump with a leap of 23 feet, 3 inches.
