The top three scorers from East Bladen’s Three Rivers Conference girls championship team were named to the league’s All-Conference team, and Coach Patty Evers was named TRC Coach of the Year.

Juniors Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson and Erica McKoy and sophmore Patience Ward were the Lady Eagle all-conference selections. West Bladen senior Patience Parker was also named to the all-league team.

Moore-Peterson led the Eagles with 15.9 points and 4.4 assists per game and also contributed 6 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game. The 5-9 guard reached the 1,000-point milestone in her East Bladen career and has now scored 1,197 points.

Ward fired in 15.7 points and led the team in rebounds (8.8) and steals (4.6) per game. Ward scored 20-points or more in 8 different games including a season-high 26 points in the Three Rivers Tournament championship game.

McKoy racked up 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2 steals per game. McKoy scored a career-high 23 points in a 68-62 win over West Bladen and 20 points in a key 66-52 victory at East Columbus.

Coach Evers directed the Lady Eagles to a 27-2 record and the TRC regular-season and tournament championships. East Bladen reached the third round of the NCHSAA Class 2A play-offs.

Parker averaged 7 points per game for the Lady Knights and scored in double figures six times. Her season high was 15 points in a 64-48 win over South Columbus.

East Bladen’s Shardajah Brown, Ashley Hardin, Anna Kate White and Lorna Mendell and West Bladen’s Chasitty Lacy and Elizabeth Allbright all received All-TRC Honorable Mention.

Red Springs senior Taya Jones was chosen as the league’s Player of the Year.
