A search  in Lenoir County for a missing Elizabethtown man has come to a sad ending. The body of a missing truck driver from Elizabethtown was recovered over the weekend from the Neuse River near Kinston.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed on Monday the family of Richard White had been notified that he had been found.

White was driving a a tractor-trailer on US 70 when the truck skidded and traveled through a barrier on the Neuse River bridge, according to reports. Divers attempted to locate the truck driver at the time of the accident but were unsuccessful. White’s body was found in the Neuse River on Saturday, according to WECT.
