In the heart of Wilmington, a vibrant celebration of spring unfolds as Niki Dennis with the Elizabethtown Foxglove Garden Club, announces the eagerly awaited Azalea Garden Tour. Scheduled for April 5th, 6th, and 7th, this event invites nature lovers and garden enthusiasts to embark on a journey through 12 enchanting gardens.

These private havens, generously opened by locals to the Cape Fear Garden Club, offer a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and tranquility of Wilmington’s finest gardens at a leisurely pace. “Always a treat,” as Dennis aptly describes, the tour is a testament to the community’s dedication to sharing the joy of gardening with others.

At the price of $50 a ticket, visitors can immerse themselves in the serene ambiance of each garden, discovering the meticulous care and passion poured into every bloom and pathway. The last day for online ticket sales was March 28, however tickets will be available in the Gardens and at the shuttle stop.

The 2024 Azalea Garden Tour, with its theme “Beyond the Garden Gate,” not only promises a feast for the eyes but also a creative showcase, as Plein Air Artists will be capturing the picturesque landscapes of the 10 private gardens throughout the weekend.

The tour, running from 10am to 5pm daily, extends its reach to the iconic Airlie Gardens, which will open its gates on Saturday and Sunday, adding another layer of allure to the garden expedition. The Azalea Garden Tour is more than just a celebration of spring’s beauty; it’s a philanthropic endeavor. Proceeds from the event are earmarked for grants to local nonprofit organizations focused on beautification, conservation, and educational projects within New Hanover County.

Since 2003, the Cape Fear Garden Club has contributed over 1.4 million dollars to the local community through the Azalea Garden Tour, underscoring the event’s significant impact beyond the garden gate. For those eager to partake in this spectacular display of horticultural artistry and community spirit, tickets are now available at the Azalea Festival Ticket Office located at 5725 Oleander Drive, Ste. B-7, Wilmington, NC 28403. Further details, including information on the gardens and the artists, can be found on the official Cape Fear Garden Club website at  https://www.capefeargardenclub.org/.
