BLADENBORO – Nydarion Blackwell threw 4 touchdown passes, and Clinton returned a kickoff and a fumble for touchdowns enroute to a 71-13 Southeastern Athletic Conference football victory over West Bladen Friday night.

It was the SAC-6 opener for both teams. West Bladen, now 2-4 overall, will visit Midway Friday. Clinton improved to 6-0 overall.

Amaris Williams capped a 54-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to put the Dark Horses up 6-0 early.

Knight junior Hezekiah Adams raced 83 yards with the ensuing kickoff to tie the game 6-6.

Blackwell found Jakarrion Kenan with his 1st touchdown pass of the night to vault the Dark Horses back on top. On the next play from scrimmage, Clinton’s Koran Blackwell scooped up a Knight fumble and returned it for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion boosts the lead to 20-6.

Alex Evans intercepted a West Bladen pass, and Clinton’s Ty Morrisley darted 5 yards for a touchdown then carried again for the conversion and a 28-6 lead.

West Bladen’s Malijah McKoy scooted 90 yards with the ensuing kickoff for another touchdown return. Junior Cade Allen tacked on the extra point to trim the lead to 28-13.

Jeffrey Arnette answered with a touchdown return of the West kickoff, and the conversion stretched the Dark Horse lead to 36-13.

Blackwell tossed another TD pass to Kenan to grow the lead to 43-13. Blackwell then connected with Josiah McLaurin on a 35-yard touchdown pass that pushed the lead to 50-13.

Evans returned a Knight punt to inside the West 5 yard line to set up Demarius Pugh’s 3-yard touchdown run.

Blackwell hurled his 4th touchdown pass of the night — 15 yards to McLaurin — to grow the Clinton lead to 64-13 10 seconds before halftime.

Knight quarterback Hunter Hester completed 6 of 10 passes for 45 yards. Noah Hall and Luke Pait both caught 2 passes for 20 yards each.

Stefane Jessup with 5 tackles and Jahmar Richardson with 6 led the West defense. McKoy had a fumble recovery.

Jonah Boone ran 7 yards for the final Dark Horse touchdown.
