Four people were arrested Monday morning after a homeowner returned to his residence and found the group taking items from the home, according to Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker.

The homeowner, who was not identified by the Sheriff’s Office in a news release, left his residence off Sweet Home Church Road north of Elizabethtown off US 701 on Monday morning for a trip to the store. When he returned, he found four people at his residence who had broken in through a window and were taking items, the Sheriff’s Office said. The homeowner called 911 and Sheriff’s deputies arrested the four on scene.

None of the four people arrested live in Bladen County. Arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering and larceny were:

• Justin Edward Williams, 32, of Benson.

•  Megan Elizabeth Smith, 30, of Roseboro.

•  Brittany Danielle McLeod, 30, of Benson.

•  Anthony Joe Hall, 43, of Salemburg.

Each had bail set at $25,000.
