TABOR CITY — Sophomore Gabby Rebollar fired in 2 goals, and senior Molly Evans dished out 2 assists to lead East Bladen to a 4-0 Waccamaw Conference girls’ soccer victory over South Columbus Friday night.
Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles improved to 2-0 in Waccamaw play and 2-0-1 overall and will travel to Spring Creek Monday. Spring Creek is located in Seven Springs. South Columbus, now 0-2 in league play and 0-5-1 overall, will host West Bladen Monday.
Gabby Rebollar opened the scoring on what Coach Raynor described as an ‘Olimpico’ – a goal straight in off a corner from the left side of the field. Neither team scored again in the 1st half.
In the 60th minute Gabby Rebollar drilled in a penalty kick. With 21:50 remaining in the game, senior Heidi Rebollar banged in a goal off an assist from Evans to boost the lead to 3-0.
Junior Iveonna “NeNe” Ward turned another Evans assist into the final Lady Eagle goal with 20:06 left to play. “NeNe used her speed and a pass from Molly to finish past the keeper,” said Raynor.
