LUMBER BRIDGE – For the 2nd straight week, Midway’s Raiders led by Logan Atkins and Kaison Marley won the Southeastern Athletic Conference golf match Monday at Scothurst Golf Course.
The Raiders posted a 316 team total to finish well ahead of 2nd place West Bladen’s 365 total. East Bladen took 3rd place with a 370 team score, followed by Clinton and Fairmont who tied for 4th place with identical 377 totals. Red Springs was 6th with a 414 score.
Atkins copped medalist honors for the 2nd consecutive week with a 73, but Marley was only a stroke back with a 74. Clinton’s Finn Howard carded a 77 to earn 3rd place honors.
West Bladen’s Isaac Mendoza shot an 85 to take 5th place, and East Bladen’s Chase Knight tied for 7th place with an 87. West Bladen’s Trenton Meares finished a stroke back in 9th place with an 88.
Other golfers and their scores for the Knights included: Daniel Gustafson (90), Nolan Sessoms (102) and Colin Britt (102). Other golfers for the Eagles were: Bailey Williams (93), Tony Todd (94), Caleb Scruggins (96) and Conner Smith (102).
Clinton will host next Monday’s SAC-7 match at Coharie Country Club.
