William, evidently you did not get a good night rest. I realize full well that people read what is written on this site. You might want to consider that as many people who read this site remember you; they remember your family here in Bladenboro and the ones who speak to me about the comments you make on this site cannot believe the things you post. A good example is in your recent post about Americans defending Putin; have not seen that on this site. But I have seen at least one American bash our President when the Bible tells us to pray for him.

One thing is for sure, the GOP does not defend any Communist. For you to even hint at it is disgrace on you. Explaining history and the way Communist have acted down through the years, is a far way from defending them. But one thing is for sure, if this election "finally" does put your candidate in the White House, then Bernie, Nancy, Charles, AOC, and the list goes on will give you and this country a good dose of socialistic communism AND I don't think you or any American is going to like what they see. And to cap it all off your candidate has lots of experience "buddying" up to communist leaders in the world; all it has taken is a few million dollars "through his son" into your candidates bank account and anything has went. The sad part is if he lands up in the White House ANYTHING WILL GO AGAIN. Why, he might even appoint Hunter as ambassador to UKRAINE, RUSSIA, CHINA, NORTH KOREA, and all Communist countries; and all he will do is fly from on Communist Country to another collecting the money, it will be all cash transactions. BUT HOLD ON, he is not in the White House yet!!!!!!!!!

And William, for the love of young people; please don't us the kind of language you used in your last post. Sounds to me like you are also encouraging "Islamic Jihadist"; you do know what they do to the heads of Americans they capture? It is so gruesome that the major news networks will not even show it. Maybe they should start, to show our citizens what we are up against.

GC, Susan Rice will break Putin's head off and crap down his neck.

GC, do you realize that people can read this? How dare ANY American praise Putin. Does the Bladen County GOP defend him too. This sickening. Putin kill his opponents with poison. You're no kin to me !😡
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 11/05/2020 at 8:56 am
William, if you think Putin is "shaking in his boots" then it is obvious you have spent more time on "Turger pressure" than how the Russians have acted over the centuries. And above all, if you think any woman is going to scare Putin; you need to go back to Bladenboro High School and take another course or two on world history. And you have a nice day getting those rigs out on the road.

GC, it's Susan Rice that I hoped Pops would pick for a running mate. I'm just fine with Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is a former Attorney General. I was looking for Harris to be the next Attorney General. Susan Rice will be a great Secretary of State. Putin is shaking in his Boots.😁

William, yeah; just like "Susan" Harris is "pops goes the weasel" running make. Just like a 100,000 absentee ballots show up in Pennsylvania and every single one was for biden. That's about as likely as you sending one of your rigs out with no fuel in the tanks and expecting it to get to its destination. We'll see William; I'll concede it is not going to be a landslide in favor of President Trump, but hang around William and see Donald J Trump take the oath of office as the next President of the United States. I'll admit your candidate gave a pretty good try; but he is still a sick man. AKA, last night in the parking lot with cars honking their horns and he is trying to thank some folks; BUT his wife has to lean over, pull her mask down and whisper a name he needs to thank. NOT GOOD, William, NOT GOOD. Can you really see this "pops joker" sitting across a table from a world leader discussion foreign policy. God forbid. And remember all the things that have happened in democrat party controlled states; AKA, quit counting votes til the next day. If you can stay in a party that allows such things, more power to you. Socialism at its finest from an election standpoint. You know as well as I do William where this is going, SUPREME COURT.

First, let me give a shout out to voters in Bladen County of all persuasions that delivered just about a clean sweep for Republican candidates in races on the ballot in Mother Bladen. Don't think anyone can say it has not been an interesting election cycle.

William, you certainly bring some interesting ideas to light concerning Mother Bladen and its towns. Considering the fact that there is not one single "Great Redwood" tree in Mother Bladen, don't think a discussion on "Turger pressure" is going to erupt out at the "old country store" as Mr. Robert Hester remembers them. It may be important, but for sure, there are other topics that need to not only be "talked about' but also "acted on".
William Butler William Butler from Charlotte wrote on 11/03/2020 at 10:14 pm
GC, may I clarify. I think of it more like Turger pressure. Turger pressure is how plants like the Great Redwoods stay upright. Where tiny cells work collectively to pass nutrients 300 feet up, strong enough to withstand the strong winds. The US treasury has the tax money from all taxpayers. I have no problem with sharing my money through taxes paid with people and places in need. That's how we roll . Heck We have the printing machines for creating money.
America is in a major bind due to Covid . In addition our small towns have been crumbling due to Republicans voting 91% for Corporations. In the future our Representatives need to be monitored to see if we can get to 50% Citizens and 50% Corporations.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 11/03/2020 at 9:39 pm
William, no doubt you are a dyed in the wool blue dog democrat. Why, because the word free has begun to pop up in your post. And of course if you know anything you know there is nothing "FREE". Have no idea where you got the 5 trillion dollars but I know where it will be gotten if God forbid your candidate wins the election. Are you ready for the tax increases this would bring about, are your drivers ready for the tax increases this would bring, are the people you haul for ready for the tax increases, are you prepared to pay $5 a gallon for fuel for your rigs, are you ready for your Mother to pay a price she can't afford for heating fuel, are you prepared to see the town you seem to be so concerned about disappear. It is already hurting, the kind of tax increases that will pay for the 5 trillion dollars CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE FREE. Just where do you expect tax payers to get money when all they have is used to pay taxes? When you have the solution to all this, let our town know.

Are you trying to tell us that you got all your rigs and terminal, if you have one, at the government till. The government has stuck its money grabbing and paying out until it reached tobacco, "dairy cows", and anything else you can name. It won't float but so long, William. Have you heard of Venezuela? Once one of the most prosperous little nations on the face of the earth, now bankrupt because of the "socialist idea" of everything free. Never has worked, never will work.

Tell you what might work, men like yourself the Lord has blessed bring this businesses back to Bladenboro. We still have some great business people in Bladenboro but we certainly need more. I believe Hester had a vision of business "booming and blooming" in Bladenboro, I believe the folks involved with Boost the Boro see the same thing; I believe Bladen Blooming has the same vision, I believe the committee of 100 has the same vision. The economy is tough right now; so the growth will have to come one business at a time. Back in the day when the Bridger family had a vision of the cottons mills and car dealerships; it did not just happen over night. I believe the same vision this family had is churning in the minds of many people today. It is coming, when who knows. Just maybe with the relocation of Butler Trucking from Charlotte to Bladenboro might be the beginning spark the Boro needs. One thing is for sure IT WILL NOT BE FREE when it comes.
William Butler William Butler from Charlotte wrote on 11/03/2020 at 4:43 am
GC, the Towns won't get all 5 Trillion. A strong State Representative will have a
great opportunity to get a lot of projects done. Maybe yours will vote for the Towns instead of voting 91% of the time for Corporations.
William Butler William Butler from Charlotte wrote on 11/03/2020 at 4:36 am
GC, they shouldn't have a hard job in getting 100% occupancy when there are only 3 stores to occupy. If Pops is elected he plans on spending 5 Trillion dollars to restore the old buildings and make them Environmentallly efficient. Those old buildings once gone will be gone forever. The drainage problems will be taken care of and if we want, every town can bring their High Schools back to Towns all over Bladen County. Towns started dying when their heart (High Schools ) were removed. There is no reason why Bladen's Towns can't look like Vail, Co. Or Dodge City Kansas. Ya gotta have a draw to get Companies to come to Bladen. Elon Musk might even consider Mother Bladen if we had the best Education system in America. Bladen County is a beautiful place that will grow anything known to man. All these Towns can put back together with the Tidal wave of money that may come soon. Why not get our Town restored for free!🙂

William, Somebody has fed you a line of bull. I am not the leader of the Bladen County Republican Party. That high distinction belongs to Mr. Wayne Schaeffer, he is the Chairman of the local party. We have one chairman and many faithful workers. As far as what is going on with the town we grew up in, The Mayor, Mr. Rufus Duckworth, Mr White one of the leaders of the Boost the Boro, County Commissioner Charles Ray Peterson, Mr. Ray Britt Chairman of the County Commissioner Board. The motto of what is going with the town Might be "we intend to have 100% occupancy rate of all buildings in town". with all the tearing down of buildings going on. Seriously, one of the toughest jobs in Bladenboro, Dublin, White Oak, and Tar Heel has been and still is to get new businesses to locate in these communities. How would you like that job? Don't know much about Bladen Blooming other than its aim is its name; this organization has been and still is working to see business BLOOM in BLADEN County. They have been involved in getting some of the businesses out to the industrial park. I'm sure the COVID-19 situation has pulled back the attempt to bring new businesses into the communities mentioned above. People who grew up in the Bladenboro area loved and still do love the town in which they grew up. But on the bright side, at least the old buildings will not be falling down on top of people.

Hiram Hester moved back to his home town and began to work to help but, his life was cut short. In fact, if I make no mistake; he and his wife moved their business to the Bladenboro area. You might consider moving your trucking business back to your home town.

Not being involved in the business side of Bladenboro; I would say that #1 closing the High School and# 2 the floodings we have experienced have had the biggest effects on the towns decline. Their certainly are folks on the Boost the Boro committee that are doing all they can to help the town. People have to cherish the past and present and keeping looking and working toward a brighter future.

Personally, I'd like to see the town hold the Christmas Parade to help us get back to the normal we knew before last March. That call is in somebody's hands besides mine. When I think of Bladenboro, I'm reminded of some words "paraphrased" from our High School song, "Our dear old town "school" our hearts are turned to thee, true hearts felt love...." To be sure, our hearts are in for what is best for our town, may God help us all to continue to do all we can to rebuild it to its former days of glory.

GC, you are the Leader of the Republican party and have influence. Why is the Demolition of West Main Street in Bladenboro the only thing hear from Bladens Blooming, a private company?

Do they have any renderings of what they plan to build back? It would build trust if they showed their plans. If they don't have one the wrecking ball should stay on the ground.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 11/02/2020 at 8:41 am
William, mere foolishness what you have been posting lately. By the way, how much you paid a year for others(your drivers to do ALL the work?

There is county budget put out every year; think Mother Bladen is doing just fine. If you don't like the improvements to downtown Bladenboro, please retire and come back and tell others what needs to be done.

What the Sheriff refused to do was not his responsibility to do. If you don't believe that, ask the other several Sheriffs statewide that also refused to do things that were not theirs to do. Do your drivers stop for every disabled trucker they see along the roadways? THINK, William, THINK. Do all your drivers wear mask every waking moment?. They have things on the axles of the trucks to tell how man miles they drive. Have you put something inside the cabs to make sure they are masked up at all times; are you, in fact, masked up at all times? Common sense, William, common sense; is that something you have quit using since you left Bladenboro?

County Commissioners serve on various boards in the county. A man of your stature should know that. Just what are you trying to prove with all this drivel?
William Butler William Butler from Charlotte wrote on 11/02/2020 at 5:29 am
GC, another thing that's in need of clarity is Bladen's Bloomin' budget and why they exist at all. Seems their budget is a million bucks a year. We now have people from ETown and Dublin pushing to demolish Main Street in Bladenboro. The County Commission Chairman is on their Board and has offered a blank check for the Demolition. The Taxpayers in Bladen seem to be in the dark about the monies being spent to keep a Good 'old boy in a position to get paid $60,000.00 a year for 20 hour working hours. Doesn't make sense.🧐
William Butler William Butler from Charlotte wrote on 11/02/2020 at 5:11 am
GC, the Bladen County Sheriff lost the support and trust of numerous Bladenites when he submitted an article in this Newspaper about refusing to enforce the Governor's mandate to wear a mask. His judgement was not in the interest of the people of Bladen County. The figures that he paid for these 2 military vehicles do seem pretty high. Again we should be able to see what he bought and we paid for. What did he buy, a Tank? Plus he refused to enforce the NC Governor's mask mandate in a show of solidarity with Trump. Heck, he might be part of Trump's gunman volunteers, who show up when Trump calls. Also Americans can't trust the Tory party. The Tories have attacked America's Electoral system from every front.

GREAT NEWS. Based on election board numbers county and state; the REPUBLICANS and UNAFFILIATED together plus the democrats that have voted for President Trump/VP PENCE; he should win Bladen County and North Carolina easily. Could be a landslide for FOUR MORE YEARS. Get out and VOTE TUESDAY and further contribute to the landslide victory.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 11/01/2020 at 9:55 pm
William, you and those who think like you politically(off the chart to the left) are truthful in one respect. You are looking for change(pennies, nickles, dimes, quaters) whereas Republicans, Unaffiliated, and many democrat voters have been looking for change; except we are receiving dollars(100's, 50's, 20's. 10, and 5's); BIG difference as you can very well see and the folks who have 401k's are really seeing the difference. Not to mention the businesses in Republican run cities and states; they are prospering. Bring on all the "change" that President Trump/VP Pence and his administration have been bringing to America. Least I forget William, IS YOUR TRUCKING BUSINESS BETTER OFF TODAY VERSES THE YEARS OF the last administration. If you are truthful, your answer is YES; SO, you see, William, Republicans believe in sharing the prosperity that comes during Republican leadership in our country. Of course, democrats have been known to share also; the only problem, what they like to share is HIGHER TAXES and shutting down our economy. How about the economic numbers for the third quarter, William.

In your post, you carry President Trump from bankrupt to making millions. Of course, he knows how to handle both circumstances. Unusual you bring up another mans business and you never speak of your own!!!!! It is none of your or my business where secret service agents live, whether protecting the current President for FOUR MORE YEARS. Noticed that you posted again shortly before I finished this post, again on a subject that is none of your business even if you are a tax payer currently absent from Mother Bladen. Rest assured that the County Commissioners and Sheriff know what they need to take care of the Sheriff's Department equipment. And how hypocritical William to ask BOL to do anything. Is the same BOL that back a year or so ago you and some of your friends called for it to be shut down by asking advertisers to cease to supporting BOL. If ypou want a bird's eye view William, why don't you come down to view your Bladen property on a weekday and go over and see Sheriff Mcvicker and ask for a tour of the the new jail and the equipment they use. And of course William you can go over to the county manager's office and request a tour of ALL property owned by Bladen County!!!! Does this by any chance have anything to do with the fact that the Sheriff is a REPUBLICAN and you are a democrat. Seems the last CC meeting I attended the democrat members brought up this same subject. And gave the impression they did not think too much about protecting equipment owned by the county; just let it set out in the weather and RUST and ROT. Certainlyyou don't want that to happen. Better to build that building and protect that equipment. Good practical use of your and my tax money. Would you agree William. Hope you and your family had a great Lord's day.

Dear BOL,
Will you do an article and share pics of the expensive Military vehicles that the Sheriff's department bought and now needs a 50,000.00 garage to keep them under? Us taxpayers would appreciate it.

GC...In 2016 were looking for a change, now a whole lot more are looking for a change.🤔

The Christian followers of Jesus realize now realize that they were duped by a con man who's entire business was grown thru Fraud, not paying people who signed contracts and did the work. YouTube has videos of several of these small business owners who Trump refused to honor his side of the contract. Trump would offer them 1/2 the agreed upon amount he'd promised in writing. When the businesses asked for their pay Trump said sue me, I have many Lawyers. Several of the small businesses went Bankrupt because of not getting their payment. Trump's stolen empire is soon to be Bankrupt.

Trump will make millions once out of office by having all his secret service agents staying in his Hotels wherever he goes there is no doubt that he will Bill Us for inflated lodging and meals.🧐

Herb Poe, Of course anyone who supports President Trump, Loves President Trump, and has voted for him or will vote for him on Novenber 3, 2020 WILL BE TOTALLY Surprised on November 4 to included Herb Poe, William, All the pollsters that have been projecting FALSE polls even before this thing got started. Even your buddy William is saying in his last post that if the pollsters report incorrect numbers long enough that people will begin to believe them. Hilary fell into that trap 4 years ago. Thank you for saying you think President Trump will win Bladn County. I DO NOT commend you on your ridiculous statement about Nov. 4 through Jan 20. This is the United States of America, this is just another Presidential election; have you forgotten that we have them every four years?

Hilary, again, thought her poll numbers four years ago looked absolutely fantastic and millions of American voters though so also, and many many millionaires and billionaires thought thought they looked good also. Never did check exactly how Las Vegas thought about Hilary's chances. No doubt a lot of people lost a lot of money. We will see what happens. At least people will know where to find biden; he'll still be in his cellar. Win, lose, or draw. Biden's lead, again, has been and still it based on fake poll numbers.

William, you would not know what an out house looks like even if you just had to tear a page out of a Sears Roebuck catalog for tissue paper. Get use to it if biden by any stretch should win; believe they will say that sever systems have something ,along with those cows, to do with green house gases. You have been off the farm too long William if you think people wear muzzles. Believe you are thinking of mask, cloth or gas.

I would certainly tell you to be very careful about addressing Unaffiliated voters as "ignorant"; put that tag on democrats all you want, but even at that remember most Unaffiliated voters use to be democrats. Believe those folks slogan when asked why they left the democrat party was, "I didn't leave the party, the democrat party left me".
William, are you as you post states "ignorant" enough to believe that any sane person would actually view something you recommend they view. And if you believe that You Tube can't be faked, then you are farther down the road to destruction than even I thought you could go. You Tube, indeed.

I'd rather concentrate on PROMISES MADE-PROMISES KEPT. Think he is going to be in North Carolina Monday. Maybe you and Herb Poe can get together between now and then and contact the President's campaign and go to the rally and when he calls you up on the stage, there and then you can announce you will be voting for President Trump the next day and then on November 4, 2020 both of you will be changing your party affiliation to REPUBLICAN. Why? Because the democrats have left both of you men in their dust with their green house gases, abortion of babies, and same sex marriages. The number one reason why the BIG RED WAVE is on its way is people of our nation want to see HOW DEEP the swamp is in this hunter/joe biden millions of dollars money scheme that is comes to find out that joe really did know about his son's business dealings and was neck deep in them himself. Have a good Lord's day tomorrow and be sure and attend church somewhere with your mask on. Doubt either one of you will do that because you don't like sitting SIX feet away from your female spouse.

Fourth the Banks can get him for Bank fraud. Fifth the Citizens can have their way with him for Conspircy to commit Election Fraud , Election Fraud. Sixth committing Treason for engaging Foriegn Leaders in Election Fraud.

GC, I think you may be in for a real surprise when you get up on Wed. morning. The chances of a Trump landslide look very small. He probably will win Bladen County but even NC looks like a flip of the coin. If Trump loses, I suspect the time between Nov 4th and Jan 20th will be total chaos. Our Democracy will get a real test. Polls are not always right, nor are they always wrong. Biden’s lead looks far better than Hillary Clinton’s did at this same point in time. If Trump pulls this one of it will take a miracle.

William, Go back and look at your last post. And I quote William , "and was transmitted by peoples breathe". No doubt you are a mask man, unfortunately you are not the Lone Ranger. Also, it is a known fact that many people are infected with Covid-19 and therefore are making themselves even sicker by breathing in their own Covid-19 germs. In fact, I did not know I had bad breathe until I started wearing a mask, and as I just explained what I was breathing out was coming right back at me the through(you guessed it) the mask. We have been told so many things about mask wearing that we do not know what to believe. For instance, Dr. Fauci originally said not to wear mask; then he said wear mask. then and I guess it is in effect now, wear the mask. Now this is supposedly the greatest virus doctor on the face of the earth. One day he is one thing; the next day he is another thing. His latest reason that mask are not working is because most people are messing around with them and that means "touching their eyes THAT"S A NO NO; touching their face THAT'S A NO NO; touching the mask after having coughed or sneezed into it THAT's DEFINITELY A NO NO. When I am in a mask wearing situation, the first thing I do when I get clear of that situation is, YOU GUESSED IT, take that mask off.

Last thing about lying, how dare you say anything about President Trump telling non truths with WHAT IS GOING ON WITH your candidate for President. He has been lying for the last 47 years as a politician. God only knows how much money has been paid into his coffers over those 47 years. And it appears his son has learn from his Dad very well. Not quiet what you learned from your Dad. He probably would drop out of the race if this situation had been uncovered several month ago.

God forbid he should ever be elected to the Presidency of OUR country.

It was his boss that said the famous words, "if you like your current plan you can keep it, AND "if ypu lie your doctor you can keep your doctor". BOTH turned out to be LIES_LIES. And now you are trying to convince Americans of the same old lie by the old people.

Second thing, if it is OUR White House then the man living in it is OUR PRESIDENT. And since he has done such a great job, he deserves FOUR MORE YEARS. Vote for him to take part in the landslide win for Trump/Pence.

Mr. Ray Britt, Thank you for your great letter about the Board of Elections and County Commissioners Board over the last few years. It might be said in as good a terms as you have expressed it; but not better. I commend you for your involvement in the political process in Bladen County. You have done an exceptional job and the thing that always has stood out to me about your public service, is the way you have edified others through the years. There is so much demeaning language and tearing down of other people; it is truly refreshing to know that you and many others on the boards on which you have served are cut out of the same mold as you. The list of names you mentioned in your letter contain some great people along with yourself. May God bless you, the Board of County Commissioners, the Board of Education, the Board of Elections and all the folks who work for the betterment of Mother Bladen. Things do have a way of working out as long as good people stay involved.

Next Tuesday the election results will be known(hopefully for all races); may God bless the new names that will appear on Elected boards of our county; may they be cut out of the same mold as you and others who have served Mother Bladen so well over the years. May the hand of God lead all elected and appointed officials of our nation. My prayer is very simple for elected and appointed leader. Heavenly Father, encourage the ones that are saved; saved the ones that are yet lost; then may they all work together for the betterment of all Bladen Countians, North Carolinians, and Americans, Amen.

The Republicans are crying Socialism today just as they did when the Democrats were establishing safety nets to keep people in their homes and have income to feed their families. Things like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, food stamps. Now the Democrats are offering an alternative to not for profit Healthcare, and you can keep your for profit Insurance is you Love your Insurance company. Back in the 30s after the Great Depression the Democrats were called Socialists because they wanted safety nets to help those in dire need. Now in 2020 the Republicans are in love with a Fascist in Trump who is against Safety nets and if elected will tear down what we have and need he's already shredded Environmental safety nets.

If Trump wins, Americans lose ! He should be in jail, not Our Whitehouse. He and his Tories have attacked our Electoral system from EVERY direction I think he should be charged for using Our US Postal Service to hinder our voting process when we need help from them to keep us safe

William, you are so deep in democrat party trash that you would dare say what you did in your second last post. What a lot of folks may not know about you and I is that we share the same great grand father. You and I grew up basically in the same area; everybody has heard talk give us some names. Talk is cheap William, be careful William talking about your kin people; in reality, when you do you are talking about yourself. The Bible has several incidences of what you refer to and it was dealt with by the family and by God. You'll have to read for yourself as to what happened to get some righteous and spiritual training in such matters.

You must have been posting on some other medium because what came through on BOL has nothing whatsoever to do with anything you, Herb Poe, and myself have been posting.

Herb Poe, as Ronald Reagan would say, "there you go again". You DO NOT know if i am on any medications or else you are God, or else you just figure everybody is taking medication.
NEWS FLASH Herb Poe, everybody is not doing it. What you have been saying certainly does refer to child prostitution. If the gay life style is not born into into a baby then it must be an acquired life style. Just what do you think those abominable people were doing to those 45 children they just rescued up in one of our Northern states. Several adults have been arrested. Of course, according to the DEMOCRAT Gov. of Virginia it would have been better to have performed a botched abortion on those 45 children and then have killed them after the abortion was bitched.

Life is in the hands of Almighty God and it is his right to take it or to spare it. If after reading the Bible from beginning to end, you come up with the idea life is not God's property; then you need to do as the gospel song said recently by the Gold City Quartet, "think I'll read it again and let it bless my soul". Whether it is the homosexual life style or the taking of the life of little babies; find out what. the Bible says about it and line yourself up with the Word of
God. May God bless you as you do so .

Read your Bibles from cover to cover and you'll find the answers to your questions on these issues. So both of you believe these young girls being forced into prostitution have chosen that lifestyle? Ask yourself, if you have daughters; would you fight to keep your daughter out of prostitution? You don't have to answer that question. However, the democrat candidate was caught saying he would prostitute himself to get something done. GC, do you abide by all of the abominations of the Pentateuch? Does your church advocate for execution of gay people? My Church constantly argues about whether or not to ordain them.

Some of those abominations get to be almost humorous. Things like “A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”. I mean, my wife left the house this morning in a pair of blue jeans, is it time to stone her?

G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 10/27/2020 at 8:51 pm
Herb Poe, the gay (queer) lifestyle is a sin just like any other sin. The Word of God is very clear that if sin is not repented(to tun away from) of then the sinner will spend eternity in hell. When Abraham was communicating with God about the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and getting them spared, God gave every opportunity for the Sodomites to escape their destruction(in other words to repent of their sin). They refused it and God had no choice but to burn then upon their refusal to repent. Take the subject of sodomy up with God and you will find that it is an abomination to His eyes, ears, and all that is God. The story of Sodom and Gomorrah is living proof that the homosexual life style is a learned life style not a born lifestyle. I am not God, neither are you; possibly. the greatest problem mankind faces today is trying to play God. Solution, mankind needs to let God be God and human beings be human beings.

William, you still are not posting like a correctly thinking man. Your presidential candidate is having trouble with that. Maybe you can decipher"G C.....you got God, Gays, and Guns". There are a lot of things that are illegal but are still being done. Good one maybe have come into existence while you were still in school. Remember when a lot of young men would have guns in the back window of their pick up trucks and then it became illegal. Lots of young men paid a lot in finds (probably out of their parents pockets) before they accepted the fact or law that they could no longer bring weapons on school property. I commend you,if in fact, your drivers DO NOT carry weapons in their rigs. Sounds to me like you would be opening yourself up to a law suit by their spouses if one of them got killed when a handy weapon would have saved their life. First of all William, being raised in the church you were raised in; with the great Sunday School teachers you undoubtedly had, not to mention the great minister of the gospel you no doubt had; surely you do know that, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Why don't you pick up a Bible the next time you see one and nestle it in your arms like you did your children as they were born. You are holding Jesus in the crook of your arm when you hold the Bible in your arms. Hence, in the beginning God, the Father of Jesus, created life and said it was very good. When the first life was taken, Cain slaying his brother Abel, God made it very clear that we are our bothers keeper. It has been so ever since and that covers Jesus when He was in the womb of Mary. Believe it was back in the Old Testament where God made the statement He knew man before He created the man in the womb. How about that William; He knew you before you were born. The growing shame of abortion today is that the democrats even now want to kill babies that survive an abortion. Life is precious to God; you trying to tell me that just because a "gone crazy" democrat party supports abortion that you are going to jump on the bandwagon go merrily along with it while the precious life of babies is being apart with medical instruments by heartless abortion doctors

Men with men and women with women is such an abomination that I hate to mention it; but God was not and still is not afraid to lay it out in His Word. A couple of good verses is Lev. 20:13 and 18:22. Then over in the Testament He summed the law up in just two expressions. Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and Love your neighbor as yourself.

William, you continue to believe what you want until you get it straightened out with God. Just to help you get down the road a piece on these two of many central truths in Christianity. #1. Think of your children, why did not you and your wife abort them? #2. Think of your wife; she is a female, right. Why did you not marry a man? My belief is that you know deep down in your heart that to kill babies and for same sex marriages to take place are sins that one day God will judge. After all, He has already destroyed two cities and Lots wife to show how much He hates these abominations. You have heard the old expression, "get out of Dodge". How about this one, "if people are in the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah, they better get out of them".

I am unable to find the correct place to make this comment, but here goes.

Anyone out after dark where there is traffic should wear light clothing. The sheriff posted some comments about this during his Halloween tips. I have had some close calls because of this. Anyone who is going to be walking where there is traffic should be aware that is is hard to see people in the roadway, especially when they wear dark clothes. I really like the idea of reflective tape strips on the clothing.

It just might save a life.

Please share the verse in the Bible where Jesus mentioned Gays or abortion, they don't exist. Nor does a gun in my home, I don't need one. If the time comes that I can't outsmart an animal and need said animal to feed my family I might buy one. What do you think about the gun insurance requirement?
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 10/25/2020 at 9:35 pm
William, You need to read your Bible a little closer and more in depth; when you do, you will find how God feels about a lot of things your party feels are okay. God doesn't feel they are okay rather an abomination. I have often thought about how man could take something that God calls an abomination but man says are okay. Must be a democrat thing because they have those things in their party platform and you being a good democrat accept those things. Read it closer William.

By the way, Wiliiam, you are getting incoherent like your candidate for President. Look at the first sentence of your last post. People want to know William , what is going on? Oh, I see it was sort of late at night.

How did we get off on guns? Are you talking about the ones your drivers carry on the rigs when they are out on the road or the ones in your gun case? It is all about the second amendment and common sense William. Have a good week at work William or are you like biden, hiding in your basement. These Li-S batteries have the potential to produce a 10 hr drive – 15 min charge time. Add charging stations distributed across the country and driving technology will will quickly evolve.

Solar, wind, geothermal, and even tidal energy sources have much potential. With a 30 year time span and sustained government encouragement there will be some major changes. Biden has the right idea.
Brad Dowless Brad Dowless from Dublin wrote on 10/24/2020 at 7:29 pm
Hi Herb,
I agree that lowering our pollution is a great goal. I just disagree with the way Biden proposes to do it. I think that consumer demand should drive the bus and not government tax dollars. Technology is always moving forward. I spent 20 years in automated electric vehicles. I have fully automated factories for General Mills, SC Johnson, Kellogg's, and even the New York Times. My first experience with an electric vehicle was in 1998 when Southeastern Community College was building an electric truck with lead acid batteries. The technology works, but it doesn't fit everyone's lifestyle. What am I going to do if I want to drive cross country? Do I have to stop every 5 hours for 45 minutes to charge my vehicle? We should be doing things like electric school buses and other things that make sense, but only when the bus needs replacing due to ageing out.
So here is the bigger question when we all go electric. What generates the electricity to meet our needs? Do we fill our lands with solar? Are you promoting more nuclear? I have created automated vehicles that handle nuclear waste, and I am not sure nuclear is a better option. It just doesn't make sense to throw trillions of tax dollars at things that just create more problems and are not consumer driven.

BTW, since you guys love the idea I am curious how many kWh you get from the solar panels you run on your home? Which electric vehicle model or hybrid do you own? What innovations have you made to your homes, such as geothermal or radiant technologies? If you say none then who are you to preach to me about the environment. Both of you have probably produced more carbon emissions already in your lifetime than I will produce in mine.

So Herb, your comment on growing technology is dead on. It is always changing rapidly. But what happens when we assign policy to technology that doesn't exist? We should create laws because of technology and not to produce technology. Seat belt laws were not in place and the seat belt invented because of it. Also, if we are so headstrong on the environment why are we not pressuring China to do more. China is a part of the Paris Climate Accord, and they produce more carbon emissions than the US and the EU combined. China's numbers are also increasing. The US is already reducing emissions thanks to natural gas and now Biden wants to spend trillions to eliminate them. That will surely make China the new superpower in the world. Our solar planes will be no match for their jet fighters.

My niece just told me that she spent $12 for gasoline last month, she drives a Prius and seems to love it. If Biden can vastly increase charging stations across the nation I can only predict a great increase in these hybrid and totally electric cars. One of the biggest things for me last night was when Biden said that he was going to transition away from the oil industry. Today he tried to walk back on it, but still said within 30 years that he wanted to be 100% renewable. He said that he would eliminate all subsidies to the oil industry. If he were to eliminate subsidies on oil we know that the money would be made up by the consumer directly through price increases. US government policy on oil used to not be a big deal because we were not one of the major producers. Today we produce roughly 19% of the world's oil and are the #1 producer in number of barrels. Our main world market competitor for goods and services, China, gives over 2 times the dollar value in subsidies to their oil companies. Other nations control their oil companies directly. So I see where it could be a big deal to pull those subsidies. I don't like them, but now is not the time to hurt a major economic industry.

How does Biden plan to keep power on at our homes and factories when we go to 100% renewable? Living in Iowa I saw many wind farms and know that they are not always turning. In fact if wind speeds are too high they have to shut them down. We all know that the sun doesn't shine 24/7 and in the winter when we need energy the most, the days are pretty short. We do have batteries and other technologies for energy storage. I invested in a company that used flywheel technology to spin up when the power was over capacity and spin down putting the power back when demand was higher. That technology didn't take off as I had hoped. Battery technology is way behind and we are fighting to get enough materials to produce enough to keep the Tesla's coming off the assembly line. Batteries are also a pollutant, and the efficiency still has a ways to go.
Then you have a situation where our military and commercial aircraft rely on fuel. We are not 30 years away from electric powered aircraft that can move 100 people across the sky at 600 mph.

So to me these are just fantasies that are not grounded in technology. It is like the kid that stands up and says when he is class president he will make the school operate only half a day when he has no means or ability to do so. I wish the politicians would just be real with people and quit promising things that they can't deliver on.

Think about it Herb Poe, NINE people decided it is alright for your daughter to marry someone else's daughter and for your son to marry someone else's son. If one of your children have the wisdom to marry someone of the opposite sex; NINe people decided the parents of that children have the right to abort your grandchild. Common sense tells anyone that is wrong. "I find" is what you say; what does God find? At the end each one of us will stand before God and answer that question.

As far as religious beliefs, take to heart the saying; "anything one man can talk you into, another man can talk you out of it" It has to come from God, by His Son, through the Word of God and His Holy Spirit. Have you seen the signs out along the roadways" JESUS? 2020!

Herb Poe, El Wrong-O again. I started out as democrat back about 58 years ago when democrats were really democrats and the party stood for some right things. They did me a real favor when they for sure left me and became an embarrassment to our country. Both parties really began to disappoint me from a political stand point and WHERE YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN Herb Poe, I switch to Unaffiliated. The I began to really look at the party platforms very closely. Could not find one for the Unafiilated, and for sure I did not believe in KILLING BABIES and SAME SEX MARRIAGE. The Republicans did and still do fit my ideals in their party platform and I BECAME A PROUD REPUBLICAN.

Why you would want to find out how long I or anybody have been a REPUBLICAN, you and God only knows. Most folks have more important things to do LIKE putting truth on social media sites. Rest assured, I for a fact could care less how long you have been what you are politically and I don't think very many other people do either. BY THE WAY, our President will be over in Lumberton tomorrow at 12:00. Thank you for admitting you do know, specifically how I vote; DIDN"T KNOW IF you were going to be a part of a FOR SURE political NO NO.

William, your last post sounds like it came from someone the FAKE NEWS MEDIA say would be a member of the PROUD BOYS. Really, William, out here with your football helmet on and hitting people. Seriously doubt Dick Butkas ever wore his helmet anywhere but on the football. From everything I have read about him and remember seeing him play professionally he would probably be a big FAN of OUR President Donald J Trump. Thought I saw a typo in your last post, The Democrat Party has become repulsive to our way of life. Your typo was Republican where I put Democrat. AND another big typo "our way of life". Even Dick Butkas would call you on that. Americans as a whole still do not believe in "killing babies" and even you don't believe in same sex marriage. If you don't believe that, ask your wife or married children. Thank you for naming TWO GOOD Republicans; shamefully your democrat party Senators on the Judiciary Committee were playing the BIGGEST children's game I have ever seen in politics and refused to represent the people they represent on one of the greatest votes a Senator can ever cast. Thanks for mentioning Mr.Floyd; have you by chance read the autopsy that was done on his body? When you do, come back and educate us on why up into the billions of property have been burn to the ground. The actions of one rogue law enforcement officer is never reason for such to happen. Not to mention the innocent lives that have been lost; but they are almost never mentioned.

Look seriously at what your party stands for today and adjust your political actions accordingly.

William, have you gone completely berserk? Check that, it sounds just like what the present democrat party would do. Thank God they will not get the chance. President Trump in a landslide victory for FOUR MORE YEARS. A husband and wife on the same court; about as much chance as your prediction that Susan Harris ,not Kamala, would be on the d-ticket. By the way, William, come back and give us the outstanding qualifications these two fin people have to serve on the Supreme Court.

I seem to remember that President Ronald Reagan use the expression, "there you go again" Herb Poe. Now where have you ever read where I said a minister of the gospel could not serve in a political office. I have said it was hypocritical for the democrats (some here in Bladen County) to jump all over Rev. Mark Harris, baptist minister and then go and elect, YOU GOT it, a baptist minister as their chairman of the local party. I only know Mark Harris by his picture and Rev. Hayes by sight. Maybe you can fill us in on additional information that you have. One thing is for sure, the democrat party is NO PARTY to be saying anything about the Constitution. Today's walkout on the Senate Judiciary hearing for a Supreme Court Justice sealed their fate and has went a long way in getting President Trump re-elected for FOUR MORE years. Many a childish act has been pulled by the democrats in Congress, this may just be the biggest.

If you want to know what Rev. Hayes preaches about in the pulpit; why don't you attend his church in the future and see first hand. Again, Herb Poe, exactly what party do you think President represents. He won the White House as a REPUBLICAN; you need to catch up HERB POE. Personally, I see President Trump as a BUSINESSMAN who just happens to be a Republican President of the United States of America.

Stay in the ball park Herb Poe, you don't know how many REPUBLICAN President's that i have voted for. In fact, unless you are God, you don't know how I have ever voted

I think that Biden will be OUR next President and if the Republicans pull off Lindsey Graham's and Mitch McConnel's broken promise to install an extreme Judge the American people will need two level headed, decent to balance the Court. It would be a perfect opportunity to appoint and install Michelle and Barack Obama to the Supreme Court. 🤔
Herb P McIntyre Herb P McIntyre from Garland wrote on 10/22/2020 at 4:28 pm
GC, Are you suggesting that the Democratic Party feels that the constitution does not allow a minister to be involved in politics out side of his church? If you are then I am simply not aware of that policy. I am aware that it is inappropriate for a minister to use his tax free Church as a tool to convey his political ideology, but unless Rev. Hayes is using his pulpit to preach Democratic ideology I see no problem with his involvement with the DNC.

I find it interesting that you seem to wonder what my party is. The truth is I have known and respected many Republican Presidents in my rather long life. I suspect I have voted for more of them than you have. The problem with this last one is that he not a Republican. I have no idea what he is, perhaps a Qanon, but certainly not a Republican.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 10/22/2020 at 2:33 pm
Herb Poe, you need to study up on politics in Bladen County. If the Chairman of the democrat party in Bladen County is not involved in politics, then Satan doesn't rule in the booger man's place. So that is two things they have in common the gospel ministry and politics. Still don't know your party when it comes to politics, but if you are a democrat then eventually you will run into Preacher Hayes as I address him from time to time. Just saw him yesterday at the polling place over in Bladenboro.

Of course, in recent years the democrats have become notorious for going after people for their religious beliefs. Most recent is the Judge that one day next week will be voted on the Supreme Court of our nation. Seems JFK was alright as a catholic President but the democrats don't want another Catholic on the Supreme court. Of course, anyone who knows anything about what is going ton in our country right now knows it is not about the Judge but about the the President of the United Of the United States that appointed her. How did you like those pictures in the Judiciary Committee meeting room this
morning standing in as proxies for the Democrat Senators on that committee. Reminded me of these pop-up fan figures at pro sporting events. They aren't working either. Imagine there a lot of workers in our nation that would like to be able to send in a cut out figure to their place of employment and still get paid for working. Of course, it sort of looks like democrat members of Congress have forgotten they are employeed by voters in their respective districts to actually show up, especially when one of the most important votes of their term in the Senate is taking place. It would be "political justice" if the same Senators were denied a seat next week when the judge will be placed on the Supreme Court.

As for other similarities between the two Reverends in question; that one would have to imagine that there are a lot of other similarities that would not be appropriate for public discussion. Even "Catholics" have had their share of those kind of things in recent years. Seems I can hear those skeletons rumbling in every bodies closets.

GC. Originally you said “Rev. Hayes is a southern baptist minister of the gospel just like Rev. Mark Harris; never could understand how the democrats treated Rev. Mark Harris and then went and appointed Rev. Hayes as the party chair in Bladen County. “

The only thing that I could see that they had in common was both are Baptist Ministers. Perhaps you are making some subtle statement about the BIA, with which I have no familiarity.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 10/21/2020 at 10:40 pm
Herb Poe, just like people of your political thought; take things and turn them around and make "TRY" to make them say something they DO NOT say. My contention is, just because one baptist minister has some problems in politics DOES NOT mean that all baptist ministers that are in politics have the same problems. Brother Butler up in Charlotte even knows that and he did not graduate from DUKE. But then again, the new democrat legal philosophy is "guilty until you are proven guilty AND then you are still guilty". Sort of like William thinking Rev. Harris wakes up every morning wondering if he will be arrested by the FEDS. Or local people trying legally to declare people guilty when their case is in the hands of the legal authorities. Thought there had to be a trial to convict; oh, I forgot the democrat political philosophy alluded to above..
Herb P McIntyre Herb P McIntyre from Garland wrote on 10/21/2020 at 10:00 pm
So GC, I guess what you are really saying is that since the Democratic Party objected to a Baptist Minister they should object to all Baptist Ministers. If that is what you really mean then it makes no sense.
G C Bryan G C Bryan from Bladenboro wrote on 10/21/2020 at 9:31 pm
El wrongO Herb Poe: everything I have written is based on how the democrat party talked about Mark Harris and specifically about the fact that he was a baptist minister. Then they up name a "baptist minister" as the chair of their local county party. It is like they are being two faced when it comes to baptist ministers; that's like saying all people in education are bad just because one educator turns out to be dad. Look at the George Floyd incident; just because one law enforcement officer goes rogue, billions of dollars of businesses have been burned to the ground. Just because one truck driver drives too long or gets drunk and drives; does that mean all truck drivers are criminals. Be careful Herb Poe, in saying what things "sounds" like. It hasn't been all that long, since I sat in funeral services conducted by Rev. Larry Hayes and the Rev. Pastor of the Lake Church who is running for County commissioner. Old as you are, you should have learned that one does not lump all of anything into the same barrel.

Your political affiliate up in Charlotte, el wrongO Butler, has went so far as to say that "Rev. Mark Harris woke up today wondering if he will be indicted for Federal Election Fraud. Both of you men are way out of your league on such things you have suggested. Dare say that both of you, if you were truthful, could wake up every morning wondering if the wrath of God was going to fall on you for something out of your past.

It amazes me that some people are constantly googllng things that would never occupy the mind of a right thinking person. If you want to google something or fact check something that should be of interest to you; why not google Joe Biden and his son's business and financial dealings for the last 15 or twenty years or so, or Biden's response to the black reporter that was interviewing him, "if are thinking about not voting for for me, you are not black". Or his reply, "if you vote for me your taxes are going up". Or, "if you vote for me, we will be coming for your weapons". Or, AND THIS IS HEARSAY, but based on former things attributed to Bernie Sanders and AOC, you will live under Socialism if Biden is elected. Sanders is has went on national television and said that many places in the US are "already" living under Socialism. And the great AOC, we will be coming for your animals, pets, and fowl because they emit greenhouse gases; if Joe Biden is elected.

Come on "MANS". You are too smart to be believing this way or voting that way.

Sounds like something their presidential candidate would do. And of course, I'm sure you are well versed in the BIA and their involvement in Bladen politics in the past. Then again, I'm posting this just like I know your political party; well, I don't, just your political philosophy by theings you post. I am proud of our Republican District Attorney, Our Republican County Commissioners, our Republican School Board members, our Republican Sheriff, our Republican NC House of Representatives member, Our US Senator, our US House of Representatives member, our local Republican party chairman and all the members of the Republican Party in Bladen County, and lest I should fail to mention him OUR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT AND VP OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Lastly, Herb Poe, you can still vote(if you haven't already done so) for every REPUBLICAN running for office. William, if the ideas of the democrat party are fully implemented are fully implemented you will not be able to have a cow, hog, or chicken, or any other kind of animal or fowl on your property when you retire. William,
The person's school that they attended makes them no better than anyone else. That is an elites' view of the world. That would be like someone saying that they attended Harvard, therefore they know more about anything than anyone. I have an engineering degree from Charlotte. I have worked with people from Penn State, NC State, Virginia Tech, and MIT. I never found their education any more or less valuable than my own. Also, growing up on a dairy farm doesn't mean that you should be my guide on education or factories either. It just means you know a heck of a lot more about cows than me.

Companies are not allowed to provide employee health information, and many of the employees wouldn't want them to do that. Why do you feel that you are entitled to that? The health department lists the numbers of the people infected in the county. The health department is your resource for public health. We don't want private companies to try to take that role. No other company, nursing home facility, or even school has provided exact numbers or statistics.

I support our local companies, workers, their suppliers, and customers. The company that you are referring to gives opportunities for people in my county to earn a living and feed their families. According to reports, they spent $350 million dollars on battling Covid-19 causing them a $72 million dollar loss in their Q2 earnings report. How could anyone say that they are not looking out for their workers?

Your other accusations are also not bearing fruit. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prevents just what you are saying. That act was signed by George Bush. Also, your analogy of the conveyor falling on someone is 100% incorrect. The only way a person is fired for being below a falling conveyor is if they are under it cutting the legs off maliciously. Otherwise, the person would have a lawsuit against the factory, the conveyor supplier, manufacturer, installer, and maybe more. There are many ANSI/ISO/OSHA standards in place to help prevent accidents in the workplace. They are not toothless as you suggest. I have been providing manufacturing equipment all over the world my whole working career. I would never want to put something in that is dangerous for employees. Safety is my number 1 priority because I would be devastated if someone was injured because of something that I did. I tell my kids who also are now in this business to make sure you come home the same way you left. No matter what happens on that day, you are successful when you do that.

Gee Brad, I hope you are not advocating “Herd Immunity”, but I am certain that the online struggles of a nine year old do not equate to the single death of one of our teachers or member of their support community. The counties infection rate is too high at the moment, currently it sits at about 7%. We really need to be at about 4% for a good period of time before we can test the waters of in person learning.

Herb,
I was a kid in those schools and the father of 5 kids. I am well aware of the spread of germs in the classroom. The classroom has been how Americans have been establishing their immune systems for generations.

So I take from your response that it is your online learning experience that those who want to learn will learn. Ok, how many 7 or 8 year old's want to sit there and learn their times tables? How many want to practice their writing or enjoy writing their spelling words 10 times each to learn the spelling? The teachers guide them because they don't have the mental clarity at that age to know that those skills are building blocks to their educational career. It is not who wants to learn it will. It has turned into whoever has the money or the time will ensure their kids do the work. Whoever is working and has older children at home watching the younger children, those kids get left behind and may never catch up.

You guys are totally lost and apparently don't comprehend what I am saying. My point is that teachers are not special to the virus and are no different than the people working gas stations or in factories. My daughter has enough common sense at 9 to know when and where she needs to be careful to limit her risk to the virus. Where your mask when around people in public, wash you hands or sanitize them often, and stay away from people as much as you can. She manages to go to gymnastics and she now is playing softball. Life goes on for her and that is all I am saying. If you guys want to hold up in bunkers, feel free. I am not reckless or in denial for learning about this virus and continuing to provide for my family in the meantime. No one, especially Roy Cooper, looks out for me better than me. I was in quarantine in March when CNN was still bringing you up to speed on the issue.

You may not know this, however there is an organization that already looks out for the health and safety of employees. It is called OSHA and Occupational Health and Safety are literally in the name. It is illegal to put employees in an unsafe situation and companies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to protect employees. I believe that our local food producers are taking great care of their workers. I work in many factories all over the state and they all follow safe guidelines for not only their employees, but also their visitors and contractors. They are 100 times more safety conscious than your local retail or grocery store.

Do you not believe that food workers are essential? I mean isn't eating food essential? Did you not see how lean some of the products were at the grocery stores? I'll bet many folks thought toilet paper production workers were pretty dang essential there for a while. Also, your accusations about a great company is a lie, and you shouldn't be saying that workers are forced to work. A company that is deemed essential means that they can work. Once again I have never seen a worker show up in the US in handcuffs with exception to the prison work crews. Even still that job I believe is voluntary.

Lastly, I know that there are great teachers out there. I never said there wasn't. But it will be pretty hard for a kid from a single parent family to help with a bridge project when that parent is struggling to figure out childcare while he/she works 2 jobs to keep the heat on. Those are some of the most vulnerable kids right now. I have degrees from both brick and mortar and online institutions. The online learning experience is so difficult because it relies on a great deal of self-reliance. I did it at 32 years of age. I know that 7, 8, 9, 12 year old's will struggle to the point that they just give up. I have walked down that road and it is a tough one. How many online classes have you guys taken since you apparently have a wealth of knowledge on the subject? My guess is neither one of you attended school since the slide rule took the place of counting on your fingers.

Right now the 1 hurdle that Trump and McConnell won't give up on in the Corvid Releif Bill is :

The right to sue one's employer if they put you in an unsafe environment and you are injured, maimed or killed while doing your job. Trump is again using quid pro quo as a weapon. This time it's not just forcing a foreign country to help him lie about his opponent.

Think about this. Trump has already made slaughter house employees Essential Workers. Interesting take on teachers and risk William. Do you also pray for those who made the food that you ate today and do you hope that they get hazard pay? What about the truckers that shipped your food or the retailers or food service workers that you bought the food from? How about the packaging company workers and the companies that make the machines that help with manufacturing that food. What about the farmers that produce the raw ingredients for the food?
Now that is just the folks that help feed you. Those jobs are not any less or more important than a teacher. We all have a role to play in society and luckily for us Americans we get to choose that role. In America no one is forced to work despite your fears. This is not China. However, right now some governors feel like we should be forced to stay home and not work like China. They feel like our kids should only have one option and that is to sit in front of a computer and hope that they can grasp the material. Your governor doesn't believe in giving working mom's and dad's the opportunity to send their kids to a private school so they can get in class instruction.
You know the government ripped Christian faith from our public schools and if you want your child to have faith education you must pay for it yourself. All of this while still having to pay taxes to provide income for people whom you pray are not being forced to work. See the irony there.
I am not going to pretend that I know what teachers go through. I have no idea and God bless them for choosing the profession. But let's also not pretend like they were sold a bill of goods about the profession before they chose the role. I know many teachers and they all knew that lower income comes with the territory. Who is going to pay this Hazard Pay that you speak of? Your governor shut down the state and now unemployment has crushed the surplus of funds we had.
The median annual wage for hazardous radioactive materials removal workers, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is $37,590 in the U.S – $18 per hour. The state Department of Public Instruction estimate the average salary for teachers to be $53,975. It looks to me like people disposing of nuclear waste need the raise and the hazard pay.
So keep eating and keep ordering from Amazon, and us folks that go out in the "scary" world will keep you safe and fed in your bunker. We will also figure out ways to educate our children without public schools because we are fighters that overcome and adapt. No matter how hard you try, none of us will make it out of this world alive. Might as well live life to the fullest as long as you can than to stay huddled in a bunker waiting for death to show up.

The World is afloat with money, just spend a little time looking at all the invest vehicles used now by millions of people to make now record profits. There is no excuse for a Teacher in normal times to have to pay money out of their paycheck for school supplies, no CEO does that. At these times if any Educator enters a schoolroom they should be paid HAZARD PAY. The Nuclear Industry pays more money for the more dangerous tasks.

William, take a look back at the N C's political history. If I am not mistaken, I believe you will find Republicans and democrats; could be wrong but I think democrats are still in the lead with numbers of Governors. So, it is evident the governorship doesn't really affect where our schools stand today. Your guess is as good as anyone's about who will "have the backs" of our teachers. One would have to think it will begin with our legislators and then a governor, regardless of his party affiliation, willing to approve the legislators recommendations to help teachers.

The one sure way to help teachers in NC is to get the legislature and the governorship on board the same ship sailing toward better schools and better teachers. The Bible states in Amos(not the Amos of "Amos and Andy fame) in chapter 3 verse 3; "Can two walk together, except they be agreed". How can the teacher salaries in NC go from almost at the bottom to like in the 20's in rank nation wide and then go back down to almost the bottom in just a matter of one governorship?

There is a way to solve this problem, but don't hold your breath for it to happen. It is all about the money William. There is an old saying William, "there is as much money at any given time as there ever has been". How much of the money that is currently under your control are you willing to shift over to to the state or federal control in support of teachers? I would have you to think about the $4,000,000,000,000 tax increase that your party's candidate for President has said he will impose on the American people, for such things as the GREEN NEW DEAL, etc.; but not one single time have I heard him speak about the schools and teachers share of that $4,000,000,000,000. Hopefully, he will not succeed with being elected and our economy will continue to to shoot upward as it was doing up to the time the Covid-19 virus was unleashed on our nation.

I am not a betting man, but if I was; I would bet unless our current priorities are adjusted, the schools and teachers of N C will continue to languish near the bottom of nationwide rankings. There is one way, William, that you can take that money that you think your wife deserves and make sure she receives it without question. NAMELY, take whatever amount you think she deserves out of your companies profits and give it to her. And since you are an avowed democrat, you can then honestly say it was done by the democrats!!!!
Whenever the Republicans hear about it, they may just follow suit and give that amount to all teachers. Case closed.

William, Seems to me the union problem you should be concerned with would be unionization of truckers. Remember, it was one of your favorite democrat Presidents Jimmy Carter back in 1980 that created the problem for truckers with the passing of the MCA.

As far as teachers are concerned; agreed that it is a tough profession in which to enter. But the ones who choose to enter it do so of their own free will. They definitely need to be taken care of, and NC has started doing a better job of that. BUT tenure is a terrible thing in any profession. To say that an employee in any profession should ever get to the place that they must be guaranteed employment is ludicrous. Bad teachers need to be weeded out just like bad employees of any profession need to be weeded out. A person not doing their job just because they have been working a certain amount of time is a terrible thing.

I am surprised that freeby Cooper would pass up an opportunity like what you advocate, he probably thought better of it seeing it would have to get through the State Legislature first. Just another reason why he should be voted out of office on November 3; because he might want to revisit this issue if he wins a second term.

As I watch the NC Governor candidates debates I was disappointed that neither candidate took the golden opportunity to propose that NC Teacher' again get a free perk"Tenure". The old GOP took it away. My wife, a Teacher took it as an insult, slap in the face a show of ignorance. The time for the return of strong Unions is now. The unions were formed for a good reason, every Teacher whether private or public should be able to stand up to their employers who put them in danger of injury or death.

William, every time a Sheriff's deputy car rides through any neighbor hood or community in Bladen County; that shows Sheriff Jim McVicker cares for every citizen in Bladen County RED, YELLOW, BLACK, and WHITE.

Don't be critical of our Immigrants, Native Americans, and African American populations; those who are living the American dream may think hard of you in lumping them all together in the most vulnerable group. The best thing we all can do is take care of ourselves, our families, our fellow workers, our fellow truck drivers, neighbors, and church members.

As for Dr. Fauci, isn't he the one that originally said mask didn't work. Then he said they did work, and then just this past week he said they fooled people that the mask gave a false sense of security. Yes, no, yes, no, yes; no wonder our young people are so mixed up on things.

Are you out in the slum areas of Charlotte every evening trying to help the "most vulnerable Population". Maybe you can call your local Sheriff and ask him can you ride with one his deputies each evening. Don't be surprised if he says no. SERVE and PROTECT William is law enforcement's slogon; personally I thiink they are doing a great job. Instead of de-funding them we need to MORE FUND them. By the way, what is the murder rate in Charlotte these days? At one time I understand it was competing with Chicago for top spot. We have the best Sheriff and several of the best county comissioners anywhere. You have stated we have "reasonable people" serving Bladen County and you are correct, and they really appreciate the tax payers paying their taxes on a timely basis. I believe that is one of the things that makes them reasonable people. And as stated previously, it helps them serve all the citizens of Mother Bladen Really well.

Another of the things that will really help them is FOUR MORE YEARS OF PRESIDENT TRUMP. You can be a big help to your home county by voting for him and all Republicans on the ballot. In early voting, starting Thursday through the 31 and then on November 3.

GC...Dr. Fauci said months ago that the best way to combat Covid 19 was from the local level, by people who know the Community well and have them assist the most vulnerable. The Immigrant population, the Native American population and the African Americans are the most at risk and many times the least wealthy. The Sheriff Department cruises every Community on a Daily basis and have this opportunity to show that they care for the Citizens and show that they are truly there to protect them.

All I know about the Bladen County Sheriff is what I read here. I am a Bladen County Taxpayer, the County Commission represents me. They are reasonable people.

Where to begin? William Butler would have the readers of this forum to begin with his post on 10/10/2020! Obviously he has forgotten his post some time back where he thought the advertisers on BOL should withdraw their support of BOL so this media would be forced out of business. And he had "some" who took his lead and thought the same way. Thank God that people see through such bad logic. The people of Bladen County to this day still support BOL and Charlotte and Daine Smith. Come on William Bulter, you know better than this; what if the people who "support" or "don't support" your trucking company simply because you are a liberal democrat and they are of a different political persausion. Don't vote against someone when they think differently than you do and then come back and commend "that same someone". Be what you are William Butler regardless of how the political winds are blowing. Not only does Charlotte publish a great e-news site but her husband also runs a great heating and air outlet here in Bladen County.

William Butler, your comment about the Constitution and the guarantee of free speech runs right along whith what most democrats want to see in our nation; do away with the Constitution (the greatest government document ever conceived by the mind of men) and turn it over to the Burn, Loot, and Murder crowd. While all the while liberal newscasters stand giving an on site account of what is
going on with in a particular city and say, "IT IS A PEACEFUL PROTEST"; which is guaranteed by the Constitution you allude to. I wonder if you will feel as so democrats feel when it comes to your neighborhood. William Butler, if after having been educated in Bladen County, you do not know that freedom of speech is as you post is guaranteed in our Constitution ALSO guarantees the right to freely listen. That is a common sense right that God gives every human being even to the point that human beings have the right to listen or not listen to HIM.

Finally, you allude to Mayberry. DIFFERENT TIME AND DIFFERENT PLACE. If you don't understand that then you do not know there are no deputies in the current Bladen County Sheriff's Department to which the Sheriiff allots only "one" bullet. What is going on in Bladen County with the situation you allude to is ENTIRELY between Sheriff Jim McVicker and the county comimssoners. Do you PROTECT your trucks by changing the oil or providing a shelter, etc. Can you explain what 18 people dying of the Chinese Covid-19 in Bladen County has to do with the Sheriff's Department. How many have died in Mecklenburg County of the same virus; when you find out, please go to the Sheriff over there and ask him if he/she has just put aside all other things that have to do with his department. Imagine he/she would show you the same door you came in. Bladen County has and will continue to as it has in the past to protect what equipment it owns. Evidently you seem to think it should be left out in the weather to just rot or rust away. Take care of the county in which you currently live William Butler and when and if you move back to Bladen County after you retire, you can start helping us citizens of Bladen County take care of Mother Bladen. By the way, William Butler; when you go home at the end of each day, DO YOU WEAR YOUR MASK WHEN YOU START TO GO INTO YOUR HOME. And another thing, for heavens sake, please be sure and keep your mask on when "coughing" or "taking pictures" to submit to Charlotte's e-news site BLADEN ON LINE. And for heavens sake, remember you can still vote REPUBLICAN on Novenber 3 or before in early voting.
