Spread the love

There were no Thanksgiving leftovers to develop into new recipes. Therefore, Nicole and Charlotte decided to get comfy and make homemade hot chocolate.

Since these ladies were young, they enjoyed the soothing, sweet beverage. With the Christmas season upon us, we hope you will be able to take some time out, get cozy, and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa for the holidays with your loved ones.

View the video recipe below:

Ingredients:

4 cups of whole milk

1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1/2 cup of your choice of chocolate chips

1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Heat the milk and sugar over medium-low heat in a saucepan, and whisk in the cocoa.

When the milk is warm, add in the chocolate chips until they melt.

Before removing from heat, add in the vanilla extract, and stir.

Serve once the hot chocolate is at the temperature to your preference.

Add toppings such as whipped cream, peppermint, chocolate shavings, or marshmallows.

The great thing about this recipe is you can change it up to your taste desires. You can add more or less of the chocolate, change the milk to 2%, or add in some adult beverage. There are many options.

Enjoy!
