bladenboropolicedepartmentAn investigation into a shooting in July that left one man with life-threatening injuries is continuing as officials wait to talk with the injured man, Bladenboro Police Chief Chris Hunt said Tuesday.

The shooting took place July 12 about 10:45 p.m. on Poplar Street, Hunt said. The chief would not release the names of the men involved, but did confirm they were not related.

“We’re looking at the evidence that we have,” Hunt said, “but we haven’t been able to talk to gentleman who was shot.” Hunt said as of about two weeks ago that man was still hospitalized.
