ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen rode an 11-2 2nd quarter spurt to a 13-6 halftime lead en route to a 36-18 non-conference junior varsity boys’ basketball victory over East Columbus Friday.
Chace Butler fired in a 3-point shot and another basket to key the decisive run. Butler and teammate Sherman Long shared scoring honors for East Bladen with 8 points each.
Long pumped in a 3-ball and another basket in the 3rd period to spark a 12-7 Eagle run that stretched the lead to 25-13. Freshman Keyshawn Kemp followed with 6 points, and Shannon Hankins added 4 points. A. Jenette led the Gators with 5 points.
Coach Aking Elting’s Eagle jayvees will travel to South Columbus Tuesday.
