FUQUAY-VARINA – Alejandro Lopez fired in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Friday night to lead Bladen County to a 7-0 victory over Nash County in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) 14-and-Under Boys Soccer state tournament.
Lopez opened the scoring with a goal off of an assist from Ishaq Algozy. Lopez then attacked the Nash defense for an unassisted goal and a 2-0 lead. Damian Sanchez converted another Lopez assist into the 3rd Bladen goal.
Hayes Clifton stretched the Bladen lead to 4-0 with an unassisted goal. Sanchez returned the favor to Lopez sending a pass for an assist on the goal that gave Lopez the ‘Hat Trick.’
Algozy pushed the lead to 6-0 turning a Levi Garcia assist into a goal. Garcia then tacked on an unassisted goal to close out the Bladen scoring.
Dylan Cruz Hernandez and Keithan Russ teamed up to record the shutout in goal for Bladen County. Hernandez manned the goal in the 1st half, and Russ was in goal in the 2nd half.
Bladen County will play Fuquay-Varina Saturday at 12:30 in their next game.
