BLADENBORO – Kemari McNeil’s 6 points sparked a 10-2 3rd period spurt that propelled Midway to a 24-21 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Friday.

West Bladen held a slim 12-11 halftime lead, but the Raiders jumped in front 21-14 and survived a late Knight rally to claim the win. Jacob Holland matched McNeil’s 6 points to lead the Midway scoring.

Baskets by Cade Allen and Elijah McCollum plus a McCollum free throw edged the Knights ahead early 5-4. Noah Hall, Conner Monroe and Tyleak Ballard threw in baskets in the 2nd period, and Monroe sank a free throw to keep West on top 12-11 at halftime.

Allen scored the only West basket in the 3rd period then bombed in a 3-point shot in the final quarter to lead the Knight scoring with 7 points. Hall banged in another basket in the 4th period and finished with 4 points. Charles Williams tossed in the other Knight basket in the final quarter. McCollum and Monroe finished with 3 points each for West.

The Knights, now 2-4 in the league and 5-8 overall, will host Clinton Tuesday.
