DUNN – Travis Gist and Kemari McNeill combined for 20 points to lead Midway to a 46-30 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Wednesday.
McNeill and Gist both bombed in 3-point shots in the opening period to spark a 14-7 surge by the Raiders. Center Alan Breakfield banged in a couple of baskets, and Walker Barkley nailed a 3-point shot for West in the quarter.
Demontre Love and Cornelius Esters buried 3-point shots for the Knights in the 2nd period. Kelsey Robinson threw in a basket, and Logan Nunez sank a free throw to keep West within 25-17 at halftime.
Andre Moore popped in a basket and a free throw in the 3rd period for the Knights. Noah Hall tossed in a basket, and Breakfield made a foul shot to keep the margin at 36-23.
Moore drained a 3-point shot in the final period, and Breakfield and Nunez pumped in baskets. Breakfield led the Knight scoring with 7 points, and Moore finished with 6 points. Gist led Midway with 11 points, and McNeill added 9.
