CLINTON – T. K. Raynor and Gregory Coxum shared scoring honors with 8 points each and led Clinton to a 44-26 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Wednesday.
Raynor, Coxum and Nydarion Blackwell combined for 14 points in the opening half as the Dark Horses built a 27-13 lead.
Center Rodney Lacewell powered in a basket and a free throw in the opening period for East, and Lee Barnes tossed in a basket. Barnes sank another basket in the 2nd quarter, and teammate Sherman Long nailed a 3-point shot. Chace Butler made 2 free throws, and Zac Metz hit one.
Lacewell muscled in a pair of baskets in the 3rd quarter, and Metz popped in a jumper as the Eagles rallied to within 30-19. Lacewell worked the paint for 2 more buckets in the final period. Butler pumped in a basket, and Metz cashed in a free throw.
Lacewell captured game scoring honors with 11 points for the Eagles. Metz, Barnes and Butler finished with 4 points each.
The Eagle jayvees, now 4-6 in SAC-7 play and 7-8 overall, will host Clinton Friday at 4:30 p.m. in their season finale.
