ELIZABETHTOWN – Triston Locklear bombed in six 3-point baskets and scored 22 points to lead Red Springs to a 32-28 overtime victory over East Bladen in Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball action Friday.

The Red Devils still needed 2 free throws each from Jamey Tedder and Kohnner Oxendine in overtime to pull out the victory.

Malaki Monroe threw in a pair of 1st quarter baskets, and Lee Barnes and Jacob Nixon dropped in a basket each as the Eagles took an early 8-5 lead. J’Marius Smith buried a 3-point shot for East in the 2nd quarter, but Locklear exploded for 5 3-balls and 2 other baskets as the visitors took a 24-11 lead.

Barnes ignited an Eagle rally in the 3rd period with a pair of baskets, and Nixon pumped in a basket and 2 free throws. Cam White popped in a basket as East pulled to within 28-21.

Monroe, Barnes and Peyton Tatum tossed in Eagle baskets in the final quarter, and Nixon sank a free throw as East Bladen sent the game to overtime.

Barnes led the East scoring with 8 points, and Nixon followed with 7 points. Monroe totaled 6 points for the Eagles who are now 1-1 in league play and 3-2 overall. East Bladen will host West Columbus Tuesday.
